they wanted the 2 Billion that NYC was giving Amazon in
Tax Breaks to rebuild the inner City slums. (Which NY has
an ample supply of).

Congrats, for not paying attention in the 3rd grade. To give
Amazon 2 Bil in tax cuts, Amazon first had to have a business
in NYC to be taxed.

Now Amazon won't get 2 bil in tax breaks, and NYC will lose
25,000 jobs. And the slums will become worse, if possible.

The thing about losing 25,000 jobs in an area that is densely
populated with ample employment is those 25K new jobs would
force others to pay more or lose their help to Amazon. The more
competitive the market is the higher the pay scale climbs.

That's how you increase pay.
