American Conservatives are Embarrassing

So it's patriotic when Obama does it?

Yes it was. Bush spent the money, but we couldn't have an accurate accounting of what we ended up owing until all that money was accounted for.
Frank would be wise to "man up" and admit what every school child already knows that the war was put "off budget" so that Shrub's budget didn't look quite so disastrous

FY 2006 Supplemental Funding : The Defense Department base budget also does not include “one time only” costs attributable to the War on Terror, which are submitted as Supplemental Funding

Ah! So that's why Obama's debt is patriotic!

You've mastered Double Think

You don't get it or you're feigning ignorance. The last Repub President kept asking for Supplemental after Supplemental because if he added it to his budget, the people wouldv'e seen the folly of his "foreign adventure" on the taxpayer dime. Barack, OTOH, never attempted to hide the disastrous fiscal shit sandwich he was handed by the outgoing Repub on Jan, 20 '09. In fact he slowed down the growth of spending to its lowest in 2+ generations in no small part due to the aforementioned hand-off

No two ways about it, we are FUBAR....
If The federal government were to take every cent from every million/billionaire tomorrow it would not even dent the national debt...

Obama has cut the deficit in half.

Again. Spending got raised up to TARP and phony STIMULUS levels. Instead of making that a "one time deal", they kept spending at those astronomical levels. Tax hikes, ObamaCare taxes and weak recovery have generated more revenue dropping deficit down from >$1.3T. But, they have already added 800Bil debt since 093015. Back on track to break records. Maybe April 15 will change that?

There is income/outgo recorded for Fed spending each year, including an off-budget column. There is no secret slush fund spent behind the curtain. nice try.

Too many to respond to, so I'll keep it to just the first few...

"By an accident of birth, I fall into the White Guy category.

Based on the crap he spews in this montage of self serving BS it's no wonder he wants to be a different color...

And that means that if other people with my outward characteristics do dumb-ass things, it reflects on my brand." Scott Adams

My brand? A minute ago this guy didn't want to be white, now he's afraid its reflecting bad on his brand? WOW, now he owns the White Brand...

White conservative Americans have become an embarrassment.

This guy struggles with self reflection on all levels, great leadership, NOT!

The debt is going up because of interest on money already spent. We can't change that without paying off that debt. The only way get more money to pay those bills off is to reduce the deficit, which we have done. Obama has cut the deficit in half.

What was the growth rate of Federal spending at the time Obama made those comments?

How much spending was occurring outside the regular budget process and not included in the calculation of the reported deficit?

Obama added more "unpatriotic debt" than all past Presidents combined, more debt than any nation incurred in all recorded history

Time to reorder those Obama Kneepads

Who said cleaning up Repub messes was ever easy? :eusa_eh: Unpaid-for, voluntary wars are 'UGELY expensive and come w/ all the attendant financial ills associated w/ disastrous choices

Um, Obama never mentioned on the books, off the books, cleaning up, he just said the debt was unpatriotic.

he did say that, right?

He did mention "off the books" several times.

Yes

I remember Sen Leahy ripping into those chicken hawks every time they came to his committee asking for YET ANOTHER "supplemental" as if their voluntary war for profit was going to be wrapped up anytime soon yet every year they did the same thing. You know why? Because they didn't want it added into their budget for obvious reasons

Obama took Shrubs unpaid for wars and put them on the books.

How the US public was defrauded by the hidden cost of the Iraq war | Michael Boyle
The most obvious way in which the true cost of this war was kept hidden was with the use of supplemental appropriations to fund the occupation. By one estimate, 70% of the costs of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan between 2003 and 2008 were funded with supplemental or emergency appropriations approved outside the Pentagon's annual budget. These appropriations allowed the Bush administration to shield the Pentagon's budget from the cuts otherwise needed to finance the war, to keep the Pentagon's pet programs intact and to escape the scrutiny that Congress gives to its normal annual regular appropriations.
