He took up arms against the United States.

I know, you'd give him a medal. But normal people support his punishment.

No, I just wouldn't torture him and I would give him his day in court. You know real American values .

I think it would have been an interesting case to see if the interrogations and potentially "cruel and unusual" tactics used against him prior to being read his rights and formally charged would have been admissible. This case could have set precedent for the entire war on terror.

Well never know, as he plead guilty.

However, it is not factually accurate to say he wasn't given his day in court.

I sympathize with the father who obviously is sympathetic to his son, however this story is completely one sided.
