America's insurrection--the state vs. the people.

The real insurrection in America was when Donald Trump got elected in 2016. It was the people using the vote to reject Congress in a peaceful message to the state that the people were onto the sellout of America by its leadership. It was a repudiation of the state over the people. Putting Trump in office was the people speaking out against the government. What happened after that was a textbook example of the state striking back with industrial strength propaganda that fooled and frightened enough of the population to orchestrate the overthrow of the people’s choice to return the state to the people.

There is an ominous lull now after what was clearly a corruptly managed and rigged election just four years later resulting in a predictably violent reactionary response that will almost surely be exposed to be the result of infiltration by the state after the state returns to power. It will of course, be too late then. It is on page one of the state handbook on authoritarianism everywhere in the world. There is nothing new under the Sun. This is time tested and works just as well now as it did a thousand years ago.

Whether it succeeds remains to be seen.

I believe it has already succeeded. If Donald Trump was the People's answer to a steadily increasing authoritarian State, then the People's rebellion has come and now gone without much lingering simpering and soon, lots of screams. As if mass systemic election fraud wasn't enough to wipe the grins from tens of millions of Trump supporters, the bad guys' seemingly complete victory so far in 2021, replete with a second impeachment of "their orange messiah" will surely stymy most of the People's hopes. My most oft asked question these days? Who remains in power, in our government, to prosecute the bad guys? Well, if they are all bad guys, then . . . ?

Unusual for you...the post actually has some merit. Trump's campaign was an insurgency. Then at approximately 12;01 on 1/20/2107...he adopted very republican principle. Gun rights. The blob has never held a gun in his life. He doesn't give two shits about gun rights. The people who adore him do. So, of course, he pretends to care.

He quickly became a "swamp" critter running up massive debt, hiring lobbyists and people from the congress...enriching himself beyond belief and lying needlessly about matters great and small.

The best policy now is to remain optimistic that the ship can right itself. How far the state will go to impose its will on the people and exact punishment for the people's insubordination is going to determine what comes next.

He wasn't that answer. If anything the State became more authoritarian with keeping kids in detention camps, limiting trade, banning people from coming here based on their religion. The mango menace is likely the most authoritarian wannabe dictator most of us will ever see in our lifetimes as President.

I like your posts, ray.

I appreciate the fact that you are an individual who expresses your own thoughts instead of just regurgitating somebody else's.
Everyone has their own thoughts and they should express them. That is what free speech is. We may be losing it. One of my daughters is a real estate agent and another is well up in management at a worldwide company. Both are local. I must choose my words or they may pay a price. A small town police chief near where I live attended the Capitol Rally and they are now calling for his head along with death threats.

Mr. Christopher C. Miller seems to be the one sitting on that sack of seeds at the moment.

Your characterization of the situation as the state versus "the people" is false. In both of the last presidential elections, the majority of "the people" did not vote for trump. The trumpettes do not represent "the people."

What do they represent, the trees?

They don't represent "the people." I don't care whom they think they represent.

That's only correct for overt acts.

If the people took up arms against the leaders, Three-Fourths of the military, would join the people.

The people said no to Trump in 2016. He lost by 3 million votes.

Trump fell ass-backwards into the Presidency, quickly proved he wasn't up to the job, and has been kept afloat by dumbasses unwilling to admit they made a mistake.

Actually, if I were to draw from History for Trump, I am reminded of Gaius Caligula, a person who was completely unfit to be Emperor or Rome, but the Senate had been so weakened by Augustus and Tiberius over the previous 70 years, they had no real mechanism to get rid of him.

Most people are looking to a return to normalcy. You know, that boring stuff where we talk about policy and not a President who thinks you can nuke hurricanes or buy Greenland.
