America's most hated woman prior to Pelosi.

This is not the same thing.

The US was one country before and after the civil war. Vietnam was seperate kingdoms ( not the same nation ) for centuries.

Minh was the aggtressor invading a neighboring country

The problem for your argument is that it was.

This is Vietnam in the 9th Century. Yes, it's smaller than present day Vietnam, but it includes half of South Vietnam and half of North Vietnam.

In 1480 you have most of Vietnam, just not the very bottom part with Saigon.

Clearly seperate nations

Then the US is clearly two separate nations.

Though I can't see how they're two separate nations. Vietnam has changed massively over the period, but Vietnam 85.32% ethnically Vietnamese. How's that two separate nations?

Or are you just going to write vague and simplistic comments for something so complex?

No the Us is not

Vietnam was two seperate kingdoms

Canada and rhe US are cultural and ethnically similar but two seperate nations which is a more accurate analogy

Your comparison to the US is a false equivelancy

Actress Jane Fonda, who earned the nickname “Hanoi Jane” when she visited North Vietnam during the height of the Vietnam War and posed for photographs alongside weapons, will be receiving the Cecil B. Demille Award at the Golden Globes this year. She will be receiving this award amid Democrats decrying treason and sedition against the United States.

And here I was thinking libs were no longer fond of traitors.

You should get yourself the facts on her story. She did not sell out America as you are all willing to now push now I've written this.

Wasn't it massive defeat enough?
Now you still looking for scapegoats.
No one hates like republicans.

Wrong.
No one hates like Vietnam vets.
And she has truly earned it.

Vietnam was two separate nations because of the French. South Vietnam didn't exist until 1955. The same as Korea, which was partitioned, even though Korea should really be one country because the people or Koreans whether they're in North or South Korea.

The reality is that there were only two separate countries because of western interference, and NOT because the people are different.

Untrue. There are many ethnic groups in Vietnam that do not consider themselves Vietnamese. And are not considered Vietnamese by the occupation government. We have South Vietnamese communities here in the US that certainly don't consider themselves part of the Nation currently calling itself Vietnam. Neither race nor ethnicity define Nation. Never has. Nations are defined by politics and power.

Okay, and does this go along the north/south divide?

It was a lot of things before the French.

The Chinese controlled half of what is now Vietnam, and the southern part was part of the Khmer nation, with the central part of modern Vietnam the Lam Ap kingdom.

There were many dynasties which controlled different parts of south east Asia. The modern boundaries of Vietnam are very modern, for thousands of years what is now Vietnam was very fluid.

As for "two separate kingdoms", which kingdoms are you talking about?

I know of no reason to think how it was divided matters. It was about political differences; not geography. It was an effort to avoid a long and bloody fight that failed. North Vietnam was determined to rule it all despite all the death and suffering of the people. Just one more case of aggressive Imperialism.

Well, after the French and the US and their aggressive imperialism, you're complaining that one group of Vietnamese wanted to control all of Vietnam.

Your comment is bizarre.

It was not one group trying to control another. Ity was one ruler who had no right to attack another country or even a legal claim on the country he ruled.

Multiple kingdoms might be more accurate either way the forced unification of Vietnam was a modern invention it was not their traditional political state. Minh was the aggressor attacking a foreign nation

Sigh, this is pointless. The US had no right to attack so many countries because it meets this. The west made North and South Vietnam. The Vietnamese wanted their country back.

And which country isn't a "forced unification"?

Wrong. The seperate Vietnams were traditional and Minh was not fighting for his country.
