It appears a bout of norovirus has broken out at the convention among a dozen GOP delegates from California, the Los Angeles Times reports.

California GOP officials advised the 550-member delegation to avoid shaking hands and sharing food, according to the Times.

Norovirus, which is highly contagious, causes an inflammation of stomach and intestines, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain.
