I didn’t pay much attention to her to start with and really don’t now. She is getting a lot of media attention and rightly so it seems; young and outspoken gets eyeballs and sells copy.

On my twitter feed this morning, this story in the NY Post came up. The Post is usually known for outrageous covers…. but this story is problematic for AOC.

https://nypost.com/2019/02/23/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-is-nowhere-to-be-seen-near-bronx-home/

She doesn’t seem to have a home in her district. This is nothing really new; GHWB only had a hotel room as his address in Texas for much of his Presidency. But usually the reps and Senators who have a “presence” in their home state/district are well-established people and well established legislators/officials. What is more troublesome is the place she lives now perhaps. To quote the article:

"Meanwhile, in Washington, Ocasio-Cortez has rented a pad in a luxe building in the chic Navy Yard neighborhood, where studios start at $1,840 a month, according to the Washington Examiner.

Her new digs feature gold-plated amenities like a rooftop infinity pool, a cycling studio with a dozen pricey Pelotons, men’s and women’s saunas, and a golf simulation lounge — but no affordable units for low-income residents, in spite of a local law that requires them, the news site reported.

In the eight months since Ocasio-Cortez’s dramatic defeat of the long-serving Crowley in June’s Democratic primary — a victory that all but guaranteed a general election win in the heavily Democratic District 14 — the congresswoman has failed to open a local office.”

She’s been on the job for about 2 months now and hopefully she’ll address her absences in her district. It would seem as though that would be more of a priority.

Keep paying attention, keep your eyes open, and keep thinking for yourself. Soon you too will understand what we mean by the "hypocrisy of the left."

Of all the things to worry about with this woman this is the least. So she doesn’t own property in the place she’s from. Millions of people doen’t. So she lives in a nice apartment now near the place she works... there’s a reason congress people aren’t paid $10 an hour.

Occasional Cortex is probably actually a republicrat, someone as stupid as she appears to be can't possibly exist in real life.

I love what she has done to the DNC regardless. Hank Johnson is a blithering imbecile too, but he doesn't get the coverage.

.

I read recently Cotez said we’re so caught up in being correct factually that we ignore being correct on the moral side.

That may be the most idiotic thing I’ve heard a person in government saying. She makes joe Biden look good

The Cheeto does this all the time and gets no media or political reprisal for it.
As for the apt of AOC being so stocked it is for fellow congress people to use when they visit or have meetings.

Yes. Still don’t see the issue. Crowley lived in Virginia. Where do you imagine Cortez used to live?

The problem is, if the reports are true, that she claimed on the government forms she signed to register as a candidate she claimed to live at the condo her father had owned, but apparently she did not. Is there a penalty for lying on those forms?

The Bronx I imagine?

She is not often seen in her district, either before taking office or since. The part about the mail to her office piling up for months, the part about her use of her dead father’s address…

Again, with the day to day crisis atmosphere in our federal government, it’s hard to remember that she has only been a Representative for less than 2 months. I’m sure a lot of this is the result of having to get your operational bearings but it’s problematic that the people in her district don’t know where her address is, how to contact her except via e-mail, and that she has been a no-show for some time now.

She’s a rock star in her party and that is fine and dandy. But she needs to get a staff in place that can, if nothing else, triage the concerns of her constituents.

Do you reember when Hugo Chavez gave Presidente Obama a book in a 2009 meeting of American states? The same Hugo Chavez whose policies made Venezuela such a beautiful way today. And that was Obama. And that is you.
