Tea Party members of the Arkansas legislature are holding up financing of health care for 100,000 citizens of their state. Arkansas is one of the few southern states that went with the Medicaid expansion. They got special approval to use private insurance to cover the expanded Medicaid participants. Now the Tea Party members of the Legislature are refusing to pass the bill that would continue the program, kicking 100,000 citizens off the health insurance they recently got by June of this year if they continue to obstruct the vote. What is even worse is that it will effect their entire Medicaid program. That means that Medicaid will no longer pay for the long term coverage of that pays for over 80% of the residents of nursing homes.
