The third annual event for DontComply. com where we break the law that restricts people from giving to the less fortunate. It is against Dallas City ordinance to feed homeless of over 75+ people without
*Giving the city notification
*Taking food handling classes
*Obtaining a license
*Keeping foods at proper temperature
*Using gloves to serve or running water with 5 gallon sink for handwashing, collecting ALL water to be disposed of properly.
The police that were watching us called code compliance and then four government employees showed up. They told us about the ordinance, gave us paperwork, and went on their way. We fed 400 people that day. Risking our freedom to show that you don't need permission to show humanity and give back to those less fortunate. We had so much food and winter clothing donated that there was enough winter clothing donated that there was enough left over to give to the shelter to distribute throughout the winter months as needed.
Thank you kindly to all that gave up their time, money and risked freedom for this small act of kindness. You are the real Heros in today's twisted world.

Why on earth is it illegal to feed and clothe the homeless

It's Dallas, and it's largely a money grab. It's also partly an attack on the homeless, in hopes of driving/killing them out of town.

Hands out is always a problem, but if more of the homeless women spent more of their time with their mouths open, they might just "find" enough money to get off the streets.

I've always wondered if a "Will ****/suck for food" sign would be more productive thsn a "Homeless. Single Mom. Anything will help" sign. Assuming there weren't legal barriers to doing so.

Because it encourages them to gather in the area, harass people while begging for money, turn streets and landscaping into open sewers, get loaded and puke in various places, etc, etc.

Giving money to beggars should be a crime, the police should have sent in a SWAT team (or the National Guard) to stop this.
