Armed vet destroys gun nuts’ argument by explaining why he didn’t attack Oregon killer

bullshit.

yes...indians slaughtered settlers......and the aztecs ate people....and native Americans tortured prison rs horribly.........read real history and stop watching Dances with Wolves...
whites did exactly the same thing on two continents three if you count south America for a couple of thousand years.
what the NAs did was a day Disneyland compared to that ..
the shooter was a nut job ,one in a long line of nut jobs who seem to get guns with no problems .
does anyone see a problem..

yeah.....but you can't lock people up till they do something...he bought the guns legally...
and you still don't see a problem.

You do realize that people die of a lot of things everyday and we can't prevent them either...right? we already have safe guards in place...and all the mass shooters either followed them, or avoided them......the santa barbara shooter passed a background check 3 times, one for each gun, and used 10 round magazines because those are the legal ones in California......so how do you stop theses guys.....

people who read their media posts need to tell police...these fuys all post before they kill....he did to....
Your point?

if the guy commits no crime that prevents him from owning a gun and he passes all of the gun control laws...there is no way to stop him. unless someone is right there with a gun to fight back......so people will die from these attacks....and in. A countey of over 320 million people, these attacks by nuts kill under 80 people a year...so each death is tragic, but there is nothing we can do to stop it.
Not buying it.

Good thread. I watched his interview. However, there is another way to look at it - whether a good guy with a gun is willing to risk his/her life to save others - even at the risk of being mistakenly killed by law enforcement as the bad guy. So, if you're going to pack a gun - you better have the guts to use it.

Gramps, why don't you just message me in the morning to tell me what I should pay attention to. That would help a lot.

Ruins the whole "gun free zone" malarkey doesnt it

No, it does not ruin anything. Only idiots would be suggesting someone should play Rambo and run to the sound of gunfire and engage the killer. What people are saying is if the shooter comes to you, at least you have the chance to defend yourself instead of dying in place.

We all know you libtards think you owe the universe an apology for being alive, but don't drag the rest of us into your sheep slaughter house.

Armed vet destroys gun nuts’ argument on mass shooters by explaining why he didn’t attack Oregon killer

A veteran who says he was carrying a concealed weapon on the UCC campus Thursday when 26-year-old Christopher Harper Mercer went on a murderous rampage, says he didn’t intervene because he knew police SWAT team members wouldn’t know him from the shooter.

In an interview with MSNBC, vet John Parker said he knows lots of students who conceal carry at the school because, despite a school policy that discourages weapons on campus, Oregon state law does allow it.

Saying he does conceal carry in case “I’m in close proximity” to an incident where he might try to save some lives, Parker admitted he’s not the type who believes that “there’s always somebody out there behind your back ready to do something like this.”

Just sounds like bad judgement to me. SWAT team comes in sees guy with handgun standing over a dude carrying an assault weapon and wearing body armor and armed to the teeth. Chances they'll shoot you without a warning?
About < 10%..

Just holster the weapon and pose for the "trophy photos" ---- it's really that simple leftist "warriors"..

I continue to be amazed at the inability of some to connect the dots with this gun shit. How the fuck can any sane person think more gun laws would prevent an Oregon-type shooting? How?

Meanwhile....offuckingcourse if a concealed carry person is in that classroom, the casualty rate is far, far less tonight!!!:coffee:

duh

Yeah well he's as big an idiot as the OP. Shoot the guy dead, save lives, put your weapon on the ground. Comply with the police.

Not too hard, he's just stupid, a coward, or a liar.

Gun free zones and armed citizens are both rediculous it's been proven that the first is in effective.
The second would end up doing far more damage .
Imagine 5 or 10 "heroes"packing heat and of that number only half practice on a regular basis and of those only 2 are any thing close to a decent shot.
Only one has been under fire.
The rest have purchased a firearm they have no business having .
44 magnum, desert eagles. Etc.
They engage the shooter or shooters who have blockaded himself inside a room or area with lots of people , he fires .
They fire back . Colateral damage doesn't quite capture the carnage.

Millions of concealed carriers out there and how many times has that happened?

I guess normal armed citizens are NOT as stupid and irresponsible as you would like to think.

All these twerps, puffing and posturing and bragging about what they would do are full of crap. There was a shooter in Tucson who hid in the Walgreens. We've heard similar with so many of these idiotic shootings. They're nothing but fierce little Mighty Mouse wannabes.

Its very likely there were other guns there as well. In this case, the cops were there within minutes, engaged the shooter within minutes.

The other excuse we hear is that mental illness is to blame. If that were true, there would be mass killings in every civilized country in the world. So far this year, 10 THOUSAND people have been killed by guns. What other country would put up with that?

France...they gave up there people for murder to the Germans.....the Germans murdered 12 million people...Europe is not a role model for civilized behavior.....
not the Germans did ploy.
even worse he totally disregards the mass slaughter of native Americans and the 24/7 shoot em up that was the west ...

the West wasn't a shoot em up...that is a gun grabber myth.
bullshit .

So much for "Good-Guy" with a gun.

I bet most NRA members are cowards like this guy.

The NRA = NAMBLA of Second Amendment.

You are a moron.

CC has had this explained to him many times.

BUt his OP shows that his mind is so closed that he cannot hear our words.

He lives in a fantasy land where Pro-gun people are want a be Batmen and this incident proves that that doesn't work.

In this, he is normal for a liberal.

Good illustration of the fundamental flaw with the concealed-carry arguements - most people are too chickenshit. Happened back during the Arizona political shooting too. At least one guy had a weapon but was on the deck cowering like everybody else.

Guts and brains. Having a ccw isn't a license to become James Bond.

Armed citizens have stopped mass shooters all around the country...you should pay more attention....

This is the difference that an armed citizen can make in stoppiing mass shootings......

Con argument - laws don't work

Why then are there any laws against anything. When was the last time dynamite was used by a criminal, or C4, or a .50 cal machine gun.

Why are there laws against driving drunk, thousands are killed by drunk drivers every year so why have laws. Or laws against bank robbing. There are hundreds of bank robberies.

Con logic - laws don't stop anything, let's not have laws

Yes that type of thinking is called self-fulfilling prophecy. Conservatives subconsciously create this world of gun slaughter and then have to find a way of defending it.

And the bodies of children are piling up.

Giffords that's it. Sorry name eluded me. Guy was in the supermarket or whatever cowering though armed.

Same again with this armed veteran more worried about being shot by arriving police than saving people with his gun. Practical concern but reveals a futility in the whole 'if I had a gunI'd have been able to do something about it' arguements.
