It is someone who has about 5% of the country who aligns with his purist attitude, but still thinks that they should be able to set the national agenda.

Someone who doesn't understand that to govern, one has to win elections.
Someone who doesn't understand building coalitions.
Someone who doesn't understand having a big tent.
Someone who pushes away everyone who would be an ally, because they only agree with 80% of your agenda.


5% can't set the agenda.
No matter how right and proper your agenda might be.

"Purist" or, as I prefer to call them extremists, from any "side" are to be avoided at all costs.

They have one over arching common denominator and that is they resort to violence to get their way.
