Bahamas are a former British colony. So why isn't the UK helping after the hurricane?

Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas which is a former British colony.

Yet the U.S. is overseeing the relief efforts and taking in refuges.

So where are the British? ... :dunno:

It's gonna cost America billions to stabilize the disaster situation in the Bahamas. And that doesn't include the cost of housing, medical, and feeding the refuges we take in.

Just another stick it to the U.S. taxpayer. ...

The UK promised to send meals, but I doubt anyone wants to eat boring, bland, tasteless, British food. ...

Well......since everyone else is either a dictatorship or a socialist country...we're the only country that has any money.

In all honesty, the Brits are basically useless now. In HK, a former British colony; they are flying U.S flags, not the Union Jack. That's how much the citizens there have faith in Britain and their system.

Sad but true.

I heard a Brit ship was on the way but maybe it had to turn around and confront the Brexit crisis.

Here's my solution. We take over the Bahamas, rebuild with hurricane proof resorts and housing and the US government gets a percentage of proceeds and taxes from The New Bahamas.
