The Ballymurphy verdict shows the need to examine the unresolved killings of the Troubles | Malachi O'Docherty
Finally, the families of 10 victims have vindication. But the British government shouldn’t be avoiding justice in Northern Ireland, says author Malachi O’Doherty
www.theguardian.com
10 people murdered by the Paras at the start of the troubles. The government then covered up the massacre by accusing the fallen of being IRA gunmen. Lies.
The regiment was then shifted to Derry where they were responsible for the Bloody Sunday massacre a few weeks later. They killed 13 people there and got away with it by claiming they were fired on.
Its 50 years that the families have lived with this and there are still hopes that someone will be brought to justice. They should not hold their breath. The main culprit in spreading the lie appears to be
General Sir Michael David Jackson, GCB, CBE, DSO, DL
Former head of the British Army. It was his work as a young officer to report the version of events that his superiors were pushing. A tory government is unlikely to take action against this lying shit , not least because they are drafting legislation to protect soldiers from historical prosecutions from outrages in Belfast.
UK to introduce law governing prosecution of soldiers
