As for the elections: that's a serious threat. If State legislatures just start throwing out votes and sending different electors, that will be a true, Constitutional crisis. Our constitution is not perfect and did not prevent this.

I think most leftists and Democrats have no idea that there was an event of protest planned on January 6th, a peaceful one. I'm sure many were involved in planning it.

Tens of thousands of people showed up to it.

The few hundred who rushed the capital? They were vigilantes who were able to waltz right in with little resistance. And all the FBI investigations reveal that they were pretty much all random people who heard about it on facebook, not Parlor.

And, to end... this January 6th incident was a pillow fight compared to the George Floyd riots that occurred all summer in many big cities, killing many many many more people and causing billions in damage. What they also did not account for was a Senate that would be in a submissive (rather than adversarial, to one degree or another) relationship with the Office of the President. The envisioned the Senate as a check to the Presidency, not as a partisan rubber stamp.
