Wouldn't say they evolved from it as much as they paralell-developed after wiping gnostics out. Catholicism didn't take much of anything from Gnosticism, and Islam wouldn't exist for some time yet.

Gnosticism had female clergy and took some of the rituals from local practices. Plus instead of an actual Bible Gnostics were using what few single texts had yet been written. Wouldn't have a whole Bible for centuries after their extermination by the early Catholic church.
