Biden's energy secretary laughs and cedes all control to OPEC when asked about oil prices

Of course gas is a bargain, cheeseball.
I wish just one lib could carry on a conversation without hiding behind personal insults

You people are pathetic

And wrong

The last big recession began with high gasoline prices that drove the working poor underwater and and out of their homes

Oh boo hoo. Are you aware of the time value of money? The price per gallon at the pump is about what it was in 1964.

When Trump went to S.A. a few years ago it's a good thing Melania remembered to pack a pair of kneepads for the orange blob to put on when he met up with his business patners in the Royal Palace.

When Dotard was on his knees I'll bet those pads really came in handy.

Ah, TDS rant ... how rare!

Yes since Biden took over we were a net importer again. Pathetic since Trump got us to be energy independent. Nothing spells stupid like Democrat does ...
Nothing says stupid and unamerican like certain whackos still licking trump's asshole, and especially after January 6th.

So you are claiming supply and demand have no influence on oil prices.

Got it. :cuckoo:

If you think it's based on 'free markets', you're as nuts as Biden is. It's oil producers who determine supply, and they determine how much supply there is, not consumers; consumers will pay whatever is asked.

I only care what the price was a year ago when biden took office

And its bad news for most Americans - other than Mr I-Got-My-Royality-Check-So-Screw-Everyone-Else

LOLOLOL.. You ninny, there was NO demand world wide because of covid so of course the price at the pump was way down.

It's lower than 1972 prices in adjusted dollars, probably close to half 1972's average of 36 cents a gallon. Many of these people were literally born yesterday and have no clue how bad inflation has been.

Thank you, Dudley.. I am not very well informed in that discipline. Clearly, you are ..Explain it to these ninnies.

We all know Joe Biden is in bed with his middle eastern pals, but for his energy secretary to flat out laugh in the faces of people struggling to pay for gas right now is despicable. These people are garbage.

I'm pretty sure it was the adjustable rates mortgages that skyrocketed their interest payments that did that, not really gas prices.

OPEC Bribed Our Economic Pundits

Oil price-gouging is the main cause of our hyperinflation. "Inflation-adjusted" is meaningless in that context.

Simple, just take a year like 1972 and multiply by 10 to get the government's price in today's dollars. For real life inflation multiply by a minimum of 20. Those who prefer to go by the gold standard should multiply by 28 to 30+. Thus, 36 cents in 1972 dollars is $3.60 by the government's faked numbers, conservatively real inflation would make that $7.20, and the gold bugs would see that 36 cents as $10.80 or more. So, gas at $3.39 is roughly 16 to 17 cents in 1972 dollars, i.e. half the price it was in 1972 in today's dollars. This is why the CPI index avoids including food and energy in their inflation calculations as well as other goods they misrepresent; they know the public is mostly stupid and will buy their numbers. Japanese and Euro banks don't use our Fed's numbers in their planning, they calculate their own. I use the gold standard in my own personal adjustments to tell if I'm doing good or breaking even or losing. This is also why jumpimg up and down at the stock market casino hitting 36,000 is a joke; it should be much higher just to be in mediocre ground.

What do you not understand about OPEC or an oil cartel, or the fact that oil is a global market. How is Biden or any president in control of oil production?
We were energy independent a few months ago. Yes, you have some control then. But not now you stupid moron.

I beleive oil industry's accounting as much as I believe in shapeshifting lizard people killed all our leaders and assumed their identities. Instead of biased websites get a text on oil and gas accounting; you will find all kinds of mythical 'deductible expenses' and tax bennies regular businesses don't get, unless of course they contribute to winning political campaigns of committee chairmen.
Cross out the N and the R in Enron and You Get Exxon

So? Nothing you said disputes the laws of supply and demand.
