There is no such thing as man made climate change. Outside of a total release of every nuclear weapon in existence. human activity cannot change or affect the climatic changes the Earth goes through.....

It's not a surprise, the US is a large country, 300 million people making it the third largest population in the world, behind India and China.

The US consumes more oil than any other country. Double what China is consuming (and their population is more than 4 times larger)

The US is also second, behind China, on electricity consumption.

Per capita (which isn't the point being made, but anyway) the US is up there, not at the top, but close.

Hard to believe the people posting here are actually adults. How did they ever survive crossing streets with the amount of ignorance that they are demonstrating?

The science behind global warming has been known for over a century. Svante Arrhenius made the first good estimate of the result of a doubling of CO2 in 1896. Tyndall made the first measurements of the absorption spectra of the GHGs in 1858. There is as strong a consensus among scientists on global warming as there is concerning evolution. Of course, our local ignoramouses don't accept the overwhelming evidence for evolution either.

During 2012, particularly in the spring and early summer, low natural gas prices led to competition between natural gas- and coal-fired electric power generators. Lower natural gas prices resulted in reduced levels of coal generation, and increased natural gas generation—a less carbon-intensive fuel for power generation, which shifted power generation from the most carbon-intensive fossil fuel (coal) to the least carbon-intensive fossil fuel (natural gas).
