That's exactly what's going on. Meltdown = audience. Potential meltdown after one has already happened = more audience. Ratings are produced by drama and conflict, and that's the soup Fox swims in. Considering their approach it would be startling if they were not leading in ratings. Rash Limblob did the same thing a year ago for exactly the same reason.

If dramas and meltdowns didn't work as ratings bait, we wouldn't have a boob tube full of prison lockdowns and cop shows and paternity tests and WWE and "cheaters" followed around with cameras and "if it bleeds it leads" stories on your local Fraction News on some fire in a neighborhood you never heard of.
