Incidently, I think that Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac and the SEC Congress and the White House all dropped the ball on the 2008 crisis. And I could take the cheap shot that Chris Cox's regulators were downloading hundreds of hours of porn when they should have been doing their jobs.
But it's a much more obvious indictment of the GOP in the 2008 crisis. The GOP's position of Trickle down and the Market will right itself was fully in practice, and we saw the result. The rich were left to do whatever the fuck they wanted, and the rest of us got stuck holding the bag.
