Breaking News: Restaurants Closing All Over Seattle As $15 Minimum Wage Mandate Starts April 1st.

Unions utilize the vices of covetousness and greed.

Oh you mean when they (unions) look at the large salaries the management makes and wants some of that money for their workers. I could live with that greed.

Why, I am willing to bet that you are smart enough to understand that those large salaries for the management is supported by the efforts of the union production workers. But then again. maybe not.

Surely if ALL the production workers walked off the job, the management would take up their jobs. Right?

Greed is thinking that your boss is screwing you over by giving you what you agreed to by contract. If you think you deserve more, you should negotiate for more and see how your labor is appraised on the open market. But to agree to a certain wage and then whine about how you're getting "screwed" by your boss is covetousness. And there's a reason that this particular sin made the top ten of God's commandments.

You got hedge fund managers making literally a billion dollars a year and you don't think they are greedy?
But a union car guy making 30 bucks an hour is greed extraordinaire eh?
Who are you to say what is greedy for the working man, when all around him are people making hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars and not work near as hard as the working man.

You are fucking crazy.

In 2010, Germany produced more than 5.5 million automobiles; the U.S produced 2.7 million. At the same time, the average auto worker in Germany made $67.14 per hour in salary in benefits; the average one in the U.S. made $33.77 per hour. Yet Germany’s big three car companies—BMW, Daimler(Mercedes-Benz ), and Volkswagen—are very profitable.

OMG would you look at the earnings of an auto worker in Germany.

How can that be? The question is explored in a new article from Remapping Debate, a public policy e-journal. Its author, Kevin C. Brown, writes that “the salient difference is that, in Germany, the automakers operate within an environment that precludes a race to the bottom; in the U.S., they operate within an environment that encourages such a race.”

During the auto bailout restructuring led by the U.S. government, General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC were told they had to rework union contracts to be in line with Toyota. While unions agreed to sharply lower the pay for new hires, there haven't been that many workers coming in at the lower levels. As a result, their labor costs remain far higher than those of new plants in the South.

"Any current wage or benefit gap between the Detroit Three and transplants could grow as transplants add capacity in the lower-wage U.S. South," said Brian Johnson, the lead auto analyst for Barclays Capital.

VW plans to build its Passat, a sedan that will be priced at $20,000, about the same as the Honda Accord and Chevrolet Malibu, making it competitive with the other volume sedans in the segment. The current model starts at nearly $28,000 but the price is coming down.

Over the next three years, VW is expected to boost the average worker's wage from $14.50 to $19.50, pushing up the total cost for a worker to roughly $38 an hour, according to the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Ford Motor Co., GM and Chrysler have battled for years to lower the gap between themselves and Japanese auto makers that assemble vehicles in the U.S. Years ago, Detroit had labor costs of around $70 an hour, but in the last few years the three companies have won concessions from the United Auto Workers union. Ford's labor cost is now about $58 an hour, according to the company.

One key UAW concession allows GM, Ford and Chrysler to hire new workers at a wage of $14 an hour, about half the pay of veteran workers. New workers also get less costly benefits, such as 401k retirement accounts instead of a life-long pension program. The number of workers who get this "second-tier" pay package is limited, however.

The Detroit Three and the UAW are scheduled to begin negotiating a new labor contract this year. Barclay's Mr. Johnson expects GM, Ford and Chrysler to seek to increase the percentage of workers making the lower, entry-level wage up from the 20% cap today.

The string of non-union auto plants that have gone up in the South is a reflection of the U.S.'s increased competitiveness in auto manufacturing. Both BMW AG and Daimler AG produce vehicles in the U.S. and export them to markets around the world.

VW, the world's most profitable auto maker last year, is hoping its new plant makes the company more competitive in the U.S. market. It has had roughly a 2% market share in U.S. sales for a decade. In contrast, VW has a global 11.4% market share, including 21% of the German market and 13% share in China's fast-growing market.

It hasn't made money in the U.S. for the past decade because unfavorable exchange rates between the dollar and the euro increases the cost of German-built cars exported to the U.S.

who makes a Lamborguini ($548,800) is jus

German care companies do not make the Lamborghini. That was just fuckin stupid. And so what that American companies don't make 100k cars. Bet you could dress up a "Vette to hit that number. Maybe a Tesla.

You missed the point, of course. Germany makes Mercedes and BMW's, but the larger fact is, much of Europe makes high end cars for a global market that buys them, the best cars in the world that a Jeep Cherokee cannot even touch in sheer performance. It's idiotic to expect that somebody who makes American cars which cost $22,000 make the same as somebody who makes a Rolls Royce or a BMW or a Porsche. I actually knew a master mechanic who worked on Mercedes. He was trained in Germany and the training was top notch.

You stupid Leftists have to one day realize that some people's labor is valued more than others.

NO those large salary workers are skilled / specialized workers, those floor fucks are just that ............any fool can work a station on a production line / assembly line.

No the lower non skilled workers need the large salary workers to get the product design and specifications right, the lowly little pee on on the floor simply gets to take the parts given to them, follow instructions and assemble as the fucking cute little pictures at the stations show...............

No when those pee on's leave, the bright ones simply hire more stupid pee on's to train......................

You are the one (well you and a few asshole other) that are envious of the money a union employee makes.

And you call me envious? That's as stupid as the Lambi being built in Germany. Even the dumb dr gloom figured that out. I want the MW worker to get a raise. You don't but I am envious of others earnings? That's just stupid.

You think VW doesn't build modestly priced cars for the German and European markets? You need to do some reading on German car companies. Hell, MB make TRUCKS you see all over.

NO those large salary workers are skilled / specialized workers,

Why they are so skilled/ specialized that at one time they designed poor quality,. poor economy and poor performance in every single vehicle they produced..

How much fucking money do they need to do a shitty job? Will 100k do it. Or do they need 150k?

Of course after they understood that they (the management) was responsible for the downfall of the company, they have tried to do better. And they have.

2016 Ford Mustang Rocket by Henrik Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports
Posted on 03.12.2015 15:30 by Mark McNabb +

While Ford was busy making a huge splash with the 2016 Mustang GT350, Henrik Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports pulled the covers off their super-Mustang creation, the Rocket. But this isn’t a one-off SEMA late-comer, it’s the first in a series of low-volume Mustangs set for production by GAS.

Fisker and GAS president Beau Boeckmann first started working on the idea after the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance back in August 2014. The two worked feverously to ready the design sketches and performance upgrades for the car — and boy, has it paid off.

The Rocket features a substantially reworked body with a new front end, hood, and wider fenders — all crafted from carbon fiber. Under the Rocket’s hood lies the Mustang GT’s original 5.0-liter V-8 but with a Whipple supercharger forcing air down its throat. The spinning screws give the Coyote engine an impressive 725 horsepower. It’s all routed through the ‘Stang’s six-speed manual gearbox.

Fisker and the guys at GAS didn’t stop there. The suspension is updated with fully adjustable shocks, enabling owners to dial in the style of performance they want. Large, 21-inch wheels are wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

The Mustang Rocket will be available in very limited numbers though Galpin’s Ford dealer network or the select hand-picked Ford dealers around the world. While the company hasn’t given any official word on pricing, the talk around the LA Auto Show floor put its sticker price just over the $100,000 mark.

Updated 03/12/2015: Galpin unveiled the first images of first production Rocket - a car dressed in a beautiful black with exposed carbon fiber racing stripes. The car was presented at Amelia Island.

And another faggot :

2015 Shelby 50th Anniversary Cobra 427
Posted on 12.31.2014 12:00 by Ciprian Florea +

The iconic Shelby Cobra — based on the British-built AC Ace roadster — first left Carroll Shelby’s shop in 1962 with a 4.3-liter, V-8 engine under its hood. It took the Cobra name only a few months to become famous and Carroll quickly turned to making it equally popular on the race track. Although the 4.7-liter version was unbeatable in the U.S. racing scene throughout 1964, Carroll also wanted the Cobra to become competitive in the FIA GT class, which was dominated by Ferrari back in the early 1960s. Thus the Cobra 427 was born, a roadster that featured wider fenders, fatter tires, an upgraded chassis and a massive, 7.0-liter, V-8 engine.

Notwithstanding the fact that it missed homologation for the 1965 racing season, the Cobra 427 went on to capture the SCCA’s covered "A Production" championship. A the same time, its road-legal version rocked the sports car world thanks to its amazingly powerful engine and reduced weight, which combined helped the Cobra obliterate most of its competitors. As the 427 turns 50 years old in January 2015, Shelby American is building 50 new examples, which are dubbed the 50th Anniversary Cobra 427, to commemorate the occasion and bring back the most powerful roadster of the 1960s. Read on for the full details.

Wrong wrong and wrong. I'm not envious of the money ANYONE makes. I am content to make enough to pay my bills and provide for my family. Secondly, I didn't claim that the Lamborghini was made in Germany, but you can't single out Germany as anything special because that whole continent is occupied in making the best cars in the world. Such precision, high performance vehicles requires a higher level of skill than a Detroit auto manufacturer. And lastly, I also never claimed that European auto makers didn't also make more affordable cars. You might want to make your arguments based on what people actually say, dumbass.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype by IMSA
Posted on 12.17.2014 14:00 by Jonathan Lopez

We love the 2015 Corvette. It’s a V-8-powered rocket ship, a rear-wheel-drive internal-combustion serenade, and a street-legal racecar all bundled up in one tidy star-spangled package. For the money, not much can touch it on the track. And that’s exactly what makes it the perfect inspiration to step into the realm of race-only prototypes.

The destroyer-of-asphalt that sits before you is the Corvette Daytona Prototype. It competes in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship (TUSCC), a new racing series that’s the result of last year’s merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series. 2014 was the inaugural season for the TUSCC, with the Corvette coming out on top in both the team championship and manufacturer’s championship. Riding the momentum of a victorious season, this bowtie bruiser just got a refreshed set of bodywork that imitates the swept back, brawny lines of the C7 Stingray. We’ll see all that new composite aero go to work soon as preparations and testing get under way for the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January 2015.

Chevrolet has a long history of sports car and prototype racing when it comes to its halo vehicle. With the new TUSCC series, it appears to be continuing that tradition in triumphant fashion. Can the Corvette hang on to the championship title? We’ll see as we move into 2015. For now, we’re content to give this prototype the nod as one of the sexiest race cars to hit an apex.

2015 Dodge Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition
Posted on 11.26.2014 19:00 by Ciprian Florea +

What a rough year 2014 was for the Viper , one during which we often asked ourselves whether Chrysler would axe the nameplate for the third time. Production was halted for several months due to slow sales and hundreds of units sitting on dealer lots, with only the massive discount introduced in September bringing more customers to Dodge dealerships. We say Dodge dealerships because 2014 was also the year in which the Viper returned under its initial badge after Chrysler decided to relegate the SRT brand back to its former performance-division status. With deliveries back on track, Dodge has restarted Viper production and can now focus on launching updated models for 2015. First on the list is the Time Attack model, which returns as the TA 2.0.

Not much has changed with the 2015 model year update. The TA carries the same aerodynamic body, the same interior and the same suspension updates. However, there are a few aero bits, slightly revised graphics, five extra ponies rumbling under the hood and, more importantly, pricing has dropped by more than $20,000. Read on for the full details.

Updated 01/08/2015: Dodge decided it was about time to let us know how the Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition looks like and it dropped the first images of the sports car. All we can say is: not bad at all.

What you don't comprehend is that he doesn't work every day that much.

How in the fuck would you know how much the dude works? Truck drivers usually work every day. At least the drivers I have known.

. What important is that he earns it.

Yea. SO what? If he got paid .75 cents a mile and made more money, wouldn't he be earning it then?
Or do you only "earn" your wages if you are underpaid? If so, them MW workers REALLY earn their wages.

How do I know how he doesn't work every day? Because there are regulations for truckers. Oh, didn't you said I know nothing about it? You're pathetic.

Yep, he earns it with his work. He's not using union to extort it from business.

Some MW workers earn their pay. Some do not. If they got no knowledge and no skill to begin with, they do not earn their wage, they got their wage through the regulation.

Hey gloom, you stupid cocksucker.

Why you posting up photos of race cars.

Post up the photo of the 100k production automobile from an American manufacture.
Which is what was being discussed by the truck driver dude. Who was the one claimed there were no 100k American cars. I said you could dress up a Vett off the floor and maybe hit 100k. And you could.

Was that Mustang rolled off the Ford production shop floor like in the photo? Fuck no you say.
How about the Shelby Cobra? Production line built? Fuck no.

I have fucked with your head so bad you are really grasping to find something to slam me with. Fuck you dude..

2015 Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car
Posted on 11.7.2014 19:00 by Ciprian Florea +

The Dodge Charger’s return in 2006 following a 20-year hiatus prompted the company to develop a funny car racer wearing the moniker. The Charger R/T Funny Car debuted the same year and went on to win two consecutive NHRA Funny Car championships with Matt Hagan and Jack Beckman behind the wheel in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Although it failed to win titles in 2013 and 2014, the Charger Funny Car added no less than 86 national titles, 77 runner-up finishes and established 12 of the 33 three-second runs in Funny Car history. With such a strong resume to its name, the Charger returns to the drag strip for the 2015 season with an updated body carrying the already familiar front and rear fascias of the facelifted production sedan.

Upgraded inside and out and with a more aerodynamic shell at its disposal, the 2015 Charger R/T Funny Car is set to make its debut at the 2015 Winternationals on February 5th at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California. The Charger will try to win its third Funny Car championships at the hands of Don Schumacher Racing.

1971 Chevrolet Corvette E-Rod by Jimmie Johnson
Posted on 11.6.2014 09:00 by Mark McNabb +

SEMA is now in full swing and the cars keep on coming. This stunning vehicle is a 1971 Corvette Stingray that NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson and the guys at Chevrolet put together as a way to show off the 6.2-liter, LT1 V-8’s new availability in GM Performance’s E-Rod series of aftermarket powertrain solutions.

The team started with a rough ’71 Stingray that had seen better days. It’s deep Brands Hatch Green paint showing signs of fade and the worn out 350-cubic-inch V-8 in need of spicing up. A frame-off restoration was needed to bring the Vette’s body back into shape. Johnson helped the design team sketch up the perfect look for the resto-mod. Modern flair like the C7 hood heat extractor and side gill vents were added to bring the two Corvette eras together.

Of course, the worn out suspension was updated to modern, adjustable, coil-over shocks with thick anti-roll bars, and the brakes were swapped for those normally found on a C6 Corvette Z06.

1965 Ford Mustang Gymkhana 7 By Ken Block
Posted on 11.5.2014 12:00 by Jonathan Lopez

Whether he’s turning trucks into snowmobiles or jumping a Ford Fiesta over San Francisco , rally driver/gymkhana specialist/professional hoon Ken Block is always full of surprises. Well, prepare your brain for another insane creation, because if this thing didn’t come with photographic proof, you’d be forgiven for thinking we were breathing too much tire smoke. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the “Hoonicorn”.

On the outside, the vehicle before you is basically a 1965 Ford Mustang . We include the qualifier “basically” because fitted to the classic pony car is enough aero and wheel arch extension to put a GT car to shame. This tire smoke machine is powered by an 845-horsepower V-8 that lays four contact patches worth of rubber via a six-speed, all-wheel-drive transmission. The monster is slated to make its first appearance in public at the Ford booth at SEMA 2014.

RTR, the tuning brand for Ford drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. , collaborated with Hoonigan Racing Division to create this madness-incarnate for Block’s upcoming Gymkhana SEVEN video.

“This is a project that I’ve been working on for two years, so to see it fully come to fruition and be able to drive it for Gymkhana SEVEN was absolutely amazing. I also knew that working with Vaughn [Gittin Jr.] and his RTR team was the right choice for this project since Mustangs are their world,” Block said in a press release. “This is hands-down the best Gymkhana car I’ve had yet.”

Hey fuck stick there are 3 more over $100,000 US made cars, you stupid faggot ..................
