Congratulations to the 45th President Donald J. Trump.

He has surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed with more still to come. The mutiny didn't occur even with all the last minute desperation from, actors, lawyers and other democracy hating citizens. Many thousands of written letters and emails have been sent asking the EC to violate their own pledge and turn the election into some sort of tinpot monarchy in which a handful of people can disregard the wishes of so many states.

Some in the EC have been threatened with death to them and their families (ask Michael Banerian from Michigan), others offered to have their fines paid for by none other than the stellar patriotic (*cough*) American film maker Michael Moore if they defied the people and chose to not vote for Trump. I imagine in the future, these people will be offered large sums of cash to vote against their own candidate...a sad display of lost souls.

Real time link I posted earlier that has updated the victory, with more votes to come:

Vote of Presidential Electors: December 19, 2016

One final note about the popular vote which many often overlook. The Libertarian Party received almost four and a half million votes, the vast majority which would have voted Republican otherwise if this were strictly a two horse race. The Green Party only siphoned one and a half million from the Democrats. In my opinion, Trump won this election with far closer numbers in the popular vote and certainly had a much broader appeal from coast to coast and in between.

Taking 36 of 38 electoral votes in Texas, Trump formally wins the election.

It's over folks!
