I don't know their names. There are 14. They aren't swapped for anything. They aren't in custody. They are on the Interpol red list for a bombing in 1994. Part of the deal is they be taken off the list.

reminds me of those stupid hikers that were caught on the iranian / iraqi border a few years earlier . iranians caught them , accused them of being spies and then the USA has to kiss azz to get them back .

It reminds everyone of how ridiculous and partisan most on the right are – where they refuse to acknowledge the president's success, where they're more worried about this reflecting positively on the president than the well-being of those detained, and where they refuse to celebrate the release of Americans detained in Iran for no other reason than the president belongs to the 'wrong' party.

Of the seven Iranian citizens being released, six are also citizens of the US. The Iranian state news agency listed them as: Nader Modanlo, Bahram Mechanic, Khosrow Afghani, Arash Ghahreman, Tooraj Faridi, Nima Golestaneh and Ali Saboun.
They are all accused or convicted of violating US sanctions on Iran.
