Brothers Kicked Off HGTV Channel Over Anti-Gay Remarks.

What is sad is the families that will lose out on a new home because of political persecution of someone expressing their faith.

Nonsense.

There’s no ‘political persecution,’ no government involvement; the only ‘politics’ involved is the partisan right seeking once again to contrive a ‘controversy’ out of a non-issue.

This sounds more like the partisan left seeking once again to diminish a controversy of a TV how being cancelled, because of social beliefs and censorship of free speech.

so lets put this in perspective shall we???? You can fire or Not hire a person for being a Christian who doesn't believe the homosexual lifestyle is right but you cant use someones sexual preference as a decision in hiring or firing someone???? Yep the left are fucking hypocrites.

Restrictions on discrimination against gays are only the law in 21 states in the US. In the other 29 states employers freely discriminate against gays (queers is actually the more proper word)

https://www.hrc.org/files/assets/resources/employment_laws_1-2014.pdf

In most states queers can also be discriminated against in >>

Hospital Visitation Laws
Statewide Housing Laws & Policies
Parenting Laws: Second Parent Adoption
Parenting Laws: Joint Adoption
Marriage Equality & Other Relationship Recognition Laws
Statewide Marriage Prohibition Laws
State Hate Crimes Laws
Statewide Public Accommodations Laws and Policies
Statewide School Anti-Bullying Laws and Policies
Statewide School Non-Discrimination Laws & Policies

Why cant these fake christians just do their jobs and leave the preaching and proselytizing at church?

These brothers were at church when they voiced their support of traditional families. Gays object to the church too.

Some gays do. Considering the rejection thrown at them by sanctimonious church types one can hardly blame them. The fact is, many church pews are empty these days and it isn't the fault of America's gay community.

Gays will have obesiance. You will do whatever they want whenever they want. The Church of LGBT punishes sins no matter how long ago they occurred. It is one of the state approved religions.

The reason why fewer people are in church today is because it is supposed to be this way. It even said so in the Bible.

Apparently, the twins have been very outspoken, including protesting outside abortion clinics -
Check out this site with tape of them and their father.

David & Jason Benham: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | HEAVY

And apparently the more that gets known about, the riskier commercial TV sees them.

Again, simple business equation. After all HGTV is not in the business of politics (or religion).

I wasn't aware that their beliefs were broadcast over the HGTV network. :eusa_whistle:

21st century social media means nothing goes unheard.

When I saw this picture I thought it was about two gays not allowed to get married.

You stereotyping again?

Nobody censured the twins. Those boys are still free to say whatever floats their intolerant, holier-than-thou boat ... just as you are. You have created a straw man argument here because you have little else.

No, they were in church when they exhibited their hate and ignorance concerning gay Americans and their contempt for the Constitution and its case law.

The fucking nazi's !

"unborn babies"?

I had to guffaw years ago when I read somebody somewhere wrote about the "rights of the unborn individual". I see oxymoronity has become commonplace.

What kind of human would find that funny?

Literate.

There is something seriously wrong with you.

No, there's something seriously wrong with that phrase. Ever see a fetus that could be described as an "individual"?

And this is an example of the ignorance typical of most on the right, as First Amendment restrictions apply only to government when it seeks to restrict citizens’ rights, not private individuals or organizations, as private individuals or organizations lack the authority to ‘censor.’

Twin brothers David and Jason Benham have lost their opportunity to host their own HGTV show.

The brothers ran afoul of the network after the site Right Wing Watch published a post about the pair, labeling David Benham as an "anti-gay, anti-choice extremist" for reportedly leading a prayer rally in 2012 outside of the Democratic National Convention held in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The site posted a recording of Benham talking to a talk show host about "homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation" and "demonic ideologies" taking hold in colleges and public schools.

Benham also discusses the fight for North Carolina's Amendment One, which involved a ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions in the state constitution.

The Benham brothers were the planned stars of the HGTV show "Flip It Forward," set to premiere in October, in which they would have helped families purchase homes they otherwise could not afford.

Oh well, one more TV channel deleted from my FAVORITES LIST. Looks like free speech really has been taking a beating in the private enterprise world lately. Hopefully, HGTV will reconsider this ridiculous action and bring the show back on. Or some other network will air it.

As the brothers themselves said >> "With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show then so be it."

Basically being "fired" for having an opinion that doesn't set well with liberals. No surprise here. :eusa_whistle:

What does that human fetus grow up to be ... a frog? You're a bit too impressed by your literacy.

That would be an opinion advocating denying same-sex couples their civil liberties, an opinion predicated on ignorance and hate, an opinion that the courts have rejected consistently – an opinion that shouldn’t ‘set well’ with anyone.

Generally same-sex couples don't have civil liberties, any more than the ordinary citizen, except on 21 states. In the other 29 states they have much less civil liberties, and are discriminated against at will in various ways.

Of course they were. Their TV show has been cancelled because of their anti-gay speech. Clear cut attack on free speech. That's what the thread is about, didn't you notice ?

HGTV made a wise decision to not be associated with bigots. They have a reputation for being all encompassing.
