Bulk of Farm Aid go to the Rich Corporate Farms.

and yet you are blaming Trump for this????? So much for "arguing principles as opposed to party politics"...…..

Who should I blame?

Yourself for believing the misleading article

So it's not happening?

no trump is not pushing socialism,,, hes pushing crony capitalism,,,

I'm just basing my argument on all the arguments I've read. It's OK with me what ever you want to call it.

The argument has been it is wrong to take from one to give to another. Either that is true with those who argue that or it isn't.

its a misleading article as stated,,,

and of course its wrong to take from one and give to another at the point of a gun

Why are you not able to simply note that this is wrong? Where do you suppose the money is coming from?

No it isn't. It's great that you have spoke out about them but you (like me) generally seem to argue principles as opposed to party politics.

The argument is that it is wrong to take from one to give to another. If that is the argument, those who argue that all should condemn this.

As a few of us have pointed out here...….Of course corporate farms would get the bulk of the funds......1.) Cause they hold the bulk of farmland 2) there's not that many family farms left to get any funds

2 is not correct. By the last Census of Ag there are some 2 million Ag operations in the US. 1,700,000 of them have less than 500 acres.

Hypothetical?????

Mom & Pop farmer owns 100 acres planted in wheat, have 5 employees, minimal equipment to work it with and in all can feed about 100 people on average.

vs

Corporate Monsanto that owns 10,000 acres planted in wheat, have 1,000 employees and all the equipment they can possible handle and in all can feed about 100,000 people...……….

WHO THE FORK DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO GET THE BULK OF FUNDS?????????

Not what I asked.

Bulk of Trump's U.S. farm aid goes to biggest and wealthiest farmers -advocacy group

The bulk of all farm aid has gone to corporations milking the system for more money. I see huge "farms" out in NE Texas "growing" maize corn with zero irrigation, and the stalks are nearly white and dry as a bone.

Maybe I need some agriculture guy to tell me this is not deliberate crop failure for the purpose of getting farm aid. I don't pretend to be an expert, but it looks highly suspicious.

And, Corporate welfare is bullshit.

.

When growing corn for grain, it needs to be a dry as possible. Farmers get penalized for moisture content above a certain percentage when they sell.
I was seriously hoping there was a reasonable explanation. Thank you for easing my cynicism.

As a few of us have pointed out here...….Of course corporate farms would get the bulk of the funds......1.) Cause they hold the bulk of farmland 2) there's not that many family farms left to get any funds

The argument has been it's wrong to "steal" from some to give to another. Is that still true?

How is it stealing if the larger corps are getting the bulk of funds, because they're bigger and have larger operating costs????

Maybe...…...depends on who owns them

and by that I mean, there are some 'family' farms that are 'owned' by corporations. Sure it's a Mom & Pop farm, but they are contracted with Corporate holders that said farm has to grow, harvest, etc what & how the Corp contract says. Though not sure who foots the bills Corp or family or combination of the two. Those are still considered Corporate farms.

Real Mom & Pop farms grow, harvest, and market their goods directly to open market and have to fund all their own operational costs/losses...

More than likely taxpayer funded FDA/USDA budget allotments...…...but that's still not stealing from one to give to another

OMG, you mean to tell us the highest producing farms receive the greatest amount of support? That's fucking crazy.

Socialism would mean everyone receives an equal share of misery.

Did you miss the part that said "taxpayer funded"??? Just like every government program is funded.

And btw...…..'Farm Aid' is still a privately funded & run assistance program for family farms

Then there's the government Grants to farmers both family & Corp.
