Burger King Moves North to Canada for Tax Reasons.

Burger King's overall effective tax rate was 27.5% in 2013, according to its annual report. Ontario has a provincial corporate tax rate of 26.5%.

IRS Eh Tim Hortons Deal Could Lower Burger King's Tax Bill Fox Business

I don't see any big tax advantage.

LOL, crap. Burger King is moving and they didn't do the math? Wow, will they be upset when they find out. You people are ridiculous, obviously they did, Homey.

I'm fairly certain that the "math" involved has a lot more to do with Tim Horton's profits, not the tax rate.
Who is Tim Horton?

Tim Horton's is a large Canadian coffee house chain. I have no idea who Tim Horton was, if he ever actually existed.
Tim Horton played in the NHL across 4 decades. His first season was the '49-'50 season.
He finished his career 24 seasons later with the Buffalo Sabres.\
He co-founded the Tim Horton's chain.
Pretty amazing given all the athlete owned businesses that have failed. Tim Horton's is a virtually unsurpassed success story.
Just a note. NHL players were not rich people. They were known for holding down jobs during the off season to make ends meet.

The Ceo of Burger King needs a big gold crown..........

Instead of arguing over who is at fault for the near 35% corporate tax rate, why not see the value in lowering it an solve all these problems??

We early Americans left England over unfair taxation........
Can you takers and moochers not see how you are destroying this country??

When there is no more industry in America will you all then be happy??

Why would you enact laws to keep companies from leaving when it is easier to drop the tax rate??

Never heard the old adage, you catch more flies with sugar than vinegar...............

What was "unfair" about our taxes? We were paying less than English citizens in England were.

Seriously? Was your education THAT poor? What was unfair was that we were being taxed but had no representation in government.

Thank you for proving you have, as always, nothing of substance to contribute.

I had a pretty good analogy of a lemonade stand and international tax law, which addressed the original post. More so than anything having to do with a persons favorite brand of donut.

Isn't that unfair taxation? The most popular license plates in DC think so.

Once you understand that Obama (Our Kenyan President, aka "OKP") believes profits are obscene and the only beneficiary of any transaction must be government then you can come to grips with why businesses are fleeing.

Until then, pay up and shut up.
Burger King is fleeing the United States? When will the fast food restaurants be closing up?

Burger King sees it as an advantage to move its headquarters to Canada. A boycott in the US would prove them incorrect. I'm all in, no Tim Horton either.

I asked Randall that question way back. He called me names and left in a hough.

BTW, Buffet and Clinton's are good friends. So guess where Hillary will get her $$$$ from in 2016?

Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way.

How expensive is Canadian beef? Are their cows cheaper per pound?

Exactly! Something we cannot say now, can we?

I don't understand why government has to solve every little problem. Economic pressure speaks volumes on the issues.
