Anybody know what the record shows for businessmen Presidents?...

... Grant wasn't much to brag on, went bankrupt twice before finding success in the army...

... Hoover, well he wasn't much either...

... Harry 'the haberdasher' Truman was famous for the buck stops here...

... but his administration was rife with corrupt underlings...

...any others come to mind who were successful as Presidents?
 
Nope.

Business and government serve opposite interests. The former is self-centered, the latter (theoretically) people-centered.

Jumping from one to the other would require turning around and doing a complete 180 --- which if you did, would kind of indicate that you had no philosophical compass at all.
 
Basically all we get for candidates are lawyers or famous names. That's been the case since 1976 -- which is also the last time we got a POTUS who never warred with anybody.

Coincidence, that? I think not. He had to go. No war? That's bad for business.
