A stand off with British police......a man with a handgun fired shots at the British police......so, tell us which British gun control law stopped this nut with a handgun from walking into a British School?

Gunman told police ‘just shoot me’ after firing shots in armed stand-off

A gunman told armed police "just shoot me, just shoot me" after firing shots at officers in a tense stand-off in Swindon, according to an eyewitness.

Described as bald, topless and with tattoos, the man surrendered after shooting at armed officers during an hour-long incident.
---------

I saw the guy at the window put a pistol or something out and then it flashed. That happened two times. Then his window smashed.

Yes...guns are legal in the U.S.... good to know. And you screwed up...again.....military rifles are very difficult to get....an Assault rifle is a rifle with select fire capability and you have to go through a lot of hoops, and fill out a lot of forms, and pay a huge fee to get one....meanwhile, semi-automatic rifles are the most popular rifle in the United States...and the AR-15 is the most popular of all of them, with close to, if not over, 18 million of them in private hands.......

And as the Centers for Disease Control found, when they did the research, Americans use their legal guns 1.1 million times a year, on average, to stop rapes, robberies and murders.

That means that a good number of those 1.1 million innocent Americans were not raped, robbed or murdered because they had a gun, and used it to stop the violent criminal attack.

And as you know, having seen the information countless times......

Over the last 26 years, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 17.25 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2018...guess what happened...

-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Yes....because they have an entirely different culture from the U.S..... and if you paid attention you would know that that culture is changing.....their welfare state has finally reached the point where it can no longer raise young males into adult men. This means more violence and more crime. Throw in 3rd world males imported from war torn countries, and countries that do not share the Western Values of British citizens, and you have a real violence problem. Then....throw in the fact that the British police stated they can't stop the increasing flow of illegal guns into the country, and you have a crime wave about to happen that compares to the crime wave in the U.S. going into the 1960s.

What part of crime not being a static experience is so hard for your brain to process?

And you refuse to understand that St. Louis releases violent gun offenders over and over again while New York was locking them up.....you dipshit....

And, dipshit........New York, under deblasio is getting rid of all the police techniques Guilliani used to arrest violent criminals and their gun crime rate is going up.....

Rise in Murders Has St. Louis Debating Why

Jennifer M. Joyce, the city’s circuit attorney, or prosecutor, an elected position, complains that in St. Louis, the illegal possession of a gun is too often “a crime without a consequence,” making it difficult to stop confrontation from turning lethal.

At the same time, deeper social roots of violence such as addiction and unemployment continue unchecked. And city officials also cite what they call a “Ferguson effect,” an increase in crime last year as police officers were diverted to control protests after a white officer shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager in the nearby suburb on Aug. 9.

-----------

Now, an overstretched department is forced to pick one neighborhood at a time to flood with officers. Last month, Chief Dotson even asked the state highway patrol if it could lend a dozen men to help watch downtown streets; the agency declined.
----
When the police discover a gun in a car with several passengers, including some with felony records, but no one admits to owning the gun, criminal charges are often impossible, Mr. Rosenfeld said.

In addition, according to a 2014 study by Mr. Rosenfeld and his colleagues, a majority of those who are convicted of illegally possessing a gun but not caught using it in a crime receive probation rather than jail time. Gun laws and enforcement are stiffer in many other cities.

New York...

Murder rate rises 55 percent in New York City, NYPD statistics say

Murder rates in New York City are up 55 percent in 2019 compared to the same time frame in 2018, according to NYPD statistics.
----
The surge takes place as overall crime in New York City is down eight percent. The increase in murders is largely credited to a jump in violent crime in Northern Brooklyn. The ten precincts that comprise North Brooklyn have recorded 15 murders in the time frame this year, compared to just three last year -- a 400 percent increase.

The number of shootings that have not resulted in death are on the rise as well, with 22 people shot compared to 13 last year, a 69 percent jump.

Criminal culture has been different....British criminals do not commit murder as often or as easily as American criminals you doofus...

... Criminal culture has been different....British criminals do not commit murder as often or as easily as American criminals you doofus...

How comes, genius?

Different historical and cultural development, asshat........ Europe came about through the feudal system, so they have a cultural understanding of respect for authority....which is why, asshat, the British Bobby went for so long not needing to carry guns...... The United States did not have the reverence for authority, as a society.......then you have the destruction of World War 1 and World War 2 which set back the development of Europe in ways that didn't happen here in the states...

So, moron....you don't understand the issue, so you should try to do some research before you post.
