We're talking about … nasal strips.
In the 48 hours since California Chrome won the Preakness, extending the everyman's horse's bid for a Triple Crown, nasal strips have become the talk of the sporting world.
Would Chrome, who's worn nasal strips in his six straight victories, be allowed to wear one in the Belmont Stakes, where heretofore they have not been allowed?
If it sounds like a small thing, then consider this: Steve Coburn, co-owner of Chrome, threatened to keep his horse out of the race if the New York racing stewards didn't end the ban.
As if skipping out on a shot at the Triple Crown would have really happened.
Anyway, it won't come to that as the powers that be relented on Monday, allowing Chrome to go all Jerry Rice June 7 on Long Island.

i am so rooting for chrome....and chrome would be the jerry rice of horse racing....come on chrome....go chrome....
if you actually read the history of the nasal strip and then the history of the triple crown, you would realize it is stupid to not allow chrome to use a nasal strip.
that and they should extend the belmont out at least a week from preakness....
