Story:
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell urged residents not to venture out to survey the damage left behind by Ida until Monday morning.

“Conditions are still severe throughout the city of New Orleans,” Cantrell said before outlining the gravity of the power outage that left 100% of Orleans Parish in the dark.

“It’s unsafe,” Cantrell declared before introducing NOPD Chief Shawn Ferguson, who echoed Cantrell’s sentiments and said the police will be mobilized to keep troublemakers off the streets.
Unsafe. Looting. No power for foreseeable future.

Who thinks it is a good idea for the city/state to take the guns away from the honest people of NOLA?

I grew up within traveling distance to New Orleans---it was never a good ideal to live there...it always attracted the trash. Most people don't want to live with the drunks and all. I wouldn't visit New Orleans without a gun.

At least Mayor Cantrell didn't open up the Superdome to the local mobs like her predecessor Ray Nagin did during Katrina.

The way the stadium was desecrated was despicable back in 05.

The recovery period after natural disasters has increase exponentially with the advent of Anti-Gouging laws.

Out of state contractors stay out of state rather than risk their asses in a disaster area for no increase in pay.
