This is a capitalism-gate tale inspired by the parody-film Canadian Bacon.

Cheers,

The secret troop of democracy-crusaders known as the "Mod-Cossacks" were dishonored by the Trump Administration and compelled to flee to Toronto (Canada) as expatriates. The Mod-Cossacks were led by Duke and Snake and included the women Lady G, the Baroness, and Mara. There were other female soldiers/druids of the team and many other men, and the 'clan' settled in Canada because of its relatively neutral and peaceful political stance in the modern geopolitical landscape. They kept their assets in the form of diamonds which could quickly be converted into cash.

The Mod-Cossacks were mostly Gen-Xers who loved media and Internet but were perfectly content streaming Toronto Blue Jays games on the World Wide Web (rather than real-time Yankees spectator-experimenting). Duke suggested that the Mod-Cossacks collect valuable Blue Jays rookie-cards as intellectual property so the clan could assert their patriotic pride regardless of where they were forced to live --- as 'mercenaries.' The Mod-Cossacks kept their Joe Carter and John Olerud Blue Jays rookie-cards in a special vault as 'clan treasures.'

An author named Clair Hayes decided to write a special pulp-comics novel about youthful Canadian mounties engaging with the Mod-Cossacks and discovering that modern era democracy-defense sometimes required the help of disparate 'knights.' Hayes concluded that the Mod-Cossacks were 'democracy-ronin' who would be remembered as 'agents of capitalism-defense' in a time when 9/11 had made everyone a bit paranoid about capitalism rituals/monuments (e.g., Wall Street, Black Friday, etc.). Lady G of the Mod-Cossacks wondered why such 'pro-mercantile ronin' of QVC and Facebook would suddenly be considered 'outlanders.'
