Actually he was attending a Christian counsellor. The young man himself alleged he suspected it was conversion therapy. Doesn’t make it so.
His father also said he only asked that his son attend their church.
It has also been reported that the parents knew he was gay for at least a couple of years and they did not throw him out because of it.

You are the one that is confused. You are basing your entire premise on one side of the story. My parents could afford it. They didn’t pay, it’s their prerogative . No harm done.
