If Trump lawyers cannot say what they are looking for that would be relevant then it is a fishing expedition. They are just hoping to find dirt by; sifting through a large amount of data in hopes that they find something

Fishing expedition refers to someone overly investigating or demanding information from an individual or organization.

The court can deny this and it happens on the time otherwise they will be wasting time because they will go hog wild in discovery and trying to find something that will help them.

It is a desperate move but his lawyers are well paid.
