Here is my original post. You lie about me lying, liar.

Hate to break it to you but every unit has it's own fruitcake and you found the one. And then you milked it for all it was worth to hint that ALL the Government is thinking this behind the doors.

The only weapon in question is the AR-15, not all the guns. The AR-15 is not any deadlier the first mag than anything else. But it's been culturized to the point where it's the weapon of choice for mass murder. When something becomes detrimental to the publics welfare, our Government not has the responsibility to remove it from most peoples hands but the duty to do so.

Notice, I am not saying an outright ban. Regulation is not a ban. It just requires the potential owner to fulfill extra steps to own it. It's not illegal to own a Mah Deuce (50 cal machine gun) but you are required to prove to your local cop agencies that you fulfill all the things that is required of you to own it. You want a Tank? Fill this out, store it properly without scaring the living hell out of your neighbors and it's yours. Just back the truck up.

The M1921 or Thompson Sub Machine Gun wasn't regulated because of the regular firearms owner. It was regulated because of the mass shooting. So they came up with the 1934 Fire Arms Act. And they didn't confiscate a single one from the law abiding. But they did toss a few criminals into jail if they were found with them.

So how about working to fix things instead of keeping churning out all the hate and fear.

There is exactly the rub. As guns have become more limited for more people, murder has skyrocketed. The more gun laws they pass, the more guns the law-abiding and the law-breaking obtain. Gun laws do nothing about crime. If you want to fix something, find the source of crime. For instance, what was the source of crime that led to the use of machine guns on the streets of Chicago in the early 1930s? Was it just the fact that machine guns existed in the world? No; it was prohibition. Government intentionally created the terrible crime wave of the 20s and 30s. When they ended alcohol prohibition, they loved the crime and the power so they immediately replaced one prohibition with another.

Crime today is still from prohibition. It is also affected by Johnson's Great Society. Those programs, too, need to be eliminated. Get the Federal Government out of schools. The Constitution gives them no authority to be involved in education at all and their control of public schools, making sure that black Americans do not have opportunities for education or the jobs that education leads to, ensures that, as Johnson planned, black Americans stay on the Democratic plantation. School choice, return the tax dollars to the States, will also reduce crime.

There are a lot of easy fixes to greatly reduce crime in the United States without even going to more incarceration and harsher prisons and prison sentences. But those, too, will help. All of these things address crime directly and at the causes. Gun laws only encourage crime, ignoring the actual causes while attacking the law-abiding for political reasons.

Do something about the 20,000 odd gun laws already on the books and we can talk. The point being, with all of those already in place, how are more going to do anything?

I can buy as many AR-15 as my little heart desires. Just tell me where to back the truck up. And a 30 round mag or more has zero reason to exist other than to slaughter school children. Our ARs come with 15 round mags which is plenty enough no matter how poor a shooter is. If you can't bag that ground hog in 15 rounds, you ain't going to bag in with 30. Besides, the biggest advantage the AR has is the speed and ease of changing mags so that Groundhog had better watch out.

Also pretty useful on the range when you don't want to have to change clips all the time just to hit some targets.

You think prisoners in jail should have guns? Well they don't. Because they have them confiscated. Doh.

Prisoners in jail should own guns. Their guns should be right where they left them when they were arrested, with the only exception being that if they were arrested in public then their family members can collect them to take home for storage.

Prisoners do not lose their right to keep and bar arms; they simply lose access to them. They don't lose their right to a trial, or to an attorney, or to anything else. And they don't lose their right to keep and bear arms. Everybody on the planet has the right to keep and bear arms. Most, unfortunately, are prevented by the force of their government's guns and prisons, but that doesn't remove the right.

Here's how confiscation works. They declare a certain class of firearms to be illegal and give the public a certain amount of time to turn in the weapons or be considered felons and subject to a home invasion by the federal government.

And there won't be squads going door-to-door so you have the opportunity to prepare for them. They'll go seemingly random but really based on their assessment of threat or of their interest. They'll publish how terrible you were and show your arsenal on national TV and even we, here, will be saying to our spouse, "Thank Goodness they go that crazy bad guy before he started shooting".

And you don't think all those multi-million dollar highway signs they put up under the guise of the Amber Alert system is for protecting or recovering missing children, do you? The Amber Alert signs will be flashing your license plate and vehicle description, telling the world that either it's a silver alert or that you kidnapped a child and, again, those of us here will be reporting you in real time, for the chil'ren, or to save the senile old man.
