There have been numerous studies finding that fields of grass are better carbon sinks than forest..

I used the word "pasture" ... as something different than a corn field ... the only study I could find was published at UC Davis and they only compared forest fires to grassland fires, and only in California ... look at the picture in post #12, does that look like it would burn if there were Californians sitting there playing with matches? ...

I'm not saying you're wrong ... this is such a difficult thing to measure I don't think hard claims can be made either way ... just keep in mind this year's corn will be respirated back into CO2 long before the tree seedlings are ready for harvest ... then this wood is milled into home parts for another 50 years ... finally buried in the landfill ...
