Colorado governor: Legalizing pot was bad idea

Regulate yes. Outlaw pot no. Unless you want to get them on tax evasion then go for it.
But most people disagree and want certain things outlawed so you just have to find a way to comfort yourself, I'm not the odd one out here, you are. But drugs do cloud your thinking.
Conversely, thinking clouds your drugs.

Shit, people prone to abuse find something to abuse.

I know straight people that don't drink, do drugs or smoke, self-righteous morbidly obese food addicts usually.

I also know straight people so addicted to Lotto they never have a dime, and straight people so addicted to video games they can't keep a job.

No way to outlaw all substances and behaviors that can be abused by the abuse prone.

Fucking Nancy Reagan and her war on drugs. And their anti science could have prevented a cure that might have cured Ronny of the Alzheimer's. So ignorant. Conservatives hold us back in so many ways.

I don't blame people who tried to ban this stuff back in the 70's and 80's. Back then, similar to the prohibition people in the 1910's and 1920's, they thought they could bend people to their will via enforcement, propaganda, and time.

The people I blame are the current crop, who refuse to see that the fight is being lost badly, and maybe it is time to step back, with Pot being the first step.

John Rockerfeller was still a supporter of temperance when he wrote his letter saying prohibition had failed and should be repealed, he just admitted that prohibition caused more problems than it fixed.

And I'm not so progressive I think heroine coke and crack or ecstacy or acid should be legal. Pots just not those other things.

It should be up to the people to decide which vices they want legal. Otherwise we're looking at opium dens.

I believe there should be age limits.

Pot does not belong in the hands of school age kids, but, it is there anyway.

They shouldn't be fucking like animals and forgoing basic protections, but, they do.

You can't legislate against stupidity.
Those aren't the same thing but I didn't say anything about kids. Pot is legal here now so the test is on. Bottom line for me is that it should be up to the state, not the minority that wants it, otherwise where do we draw the line?
Big difference I hear.

Pot was already so entrenched, and available, with Canada nearby and all, that the market will not support Colorado's ass-raping prices and taxes.

I heard legal pot is 25% of the price of Colorado pot, but haven't personally checked it out.

A colorado business man tried to open up a shop but no landlord would rent to him so he bought a strip mall and put $1 million into fixing it up.

Fuck the nay sayers. They'll be dead soon and society will be more evolved.

Acid should not be in that group.

A little acid never hurt anyone that wasn't throwed off to begin with.

I have no clue about pricing, last I heard they fucked up the supply/demand thing and there's a glut of weed out there so some businesses may be taking it in the shorts. There's a bunch of new weed shops that popped up recently.

Some people slack at work or as a mom or boyfriend because they abuse usmb. Ban usmb! Not good for you.

I loved acid in college! Got a hit? Any good?

I'll be fifty this year and have smoked pot for 35 of those years yet I was able to retire early and lead a productive life.
And I also love my beer and whiskey.
It all boils down to personal responsibility really.
If you cant handle drinking it's not likely you'll do any better with pot,but thats on the individual.

when i was a kid 30+ years ago

smoked weed when it was cool and not so popular

havent smoked it since but then again i dont drink much either
Good for you old man. What's that got to do with me? I guess you get a vote too. Just don't be a dick and try to take the right away from us because you don't like it. We will outlaw donuts coffee and hobos on your fat ass. Lol. Remember what free means.
So you don't believe a society should be able to regulate intoxicants. That's cute but really stupid.

Legalize growing at home.

End of problem.

Wrong. Cities and counties should have the right to set zoning laws, and the State should have the right to license growers and inspect the product.

Haven't seen it in over 40 years, but, heard it is making a comeback.

Not sure I would do it at this age.

We have enough government.

What a person grows in their own dirt is not government's business.

I don't agree with that statement. Acid would be one of the last ones I would consider legalizing without further research.

If you dont feel the same about alcohol you're a hypocrite.

Drug laws, like any other vice law, are primarily designed due to people who cannot handle "too much of a good thing." I myself have been able to use pot on occasion without any addiction or impact on my work or life, same as alcohol (and I love me some alcohol).

Where I digress from drug legalization advocates is the legalization of all drugs. Some to me have too much of a downside for users, i.e. with things like meth and heroin, where the ability to casually use with out acute societal and person side effects is far less than alcohol, pot, nicotine or caffeine. I would also add things like Ecstasy and magic mushrooms to the legalization category.

Any law against a vice must have a tangible, and overwhelming postitive impact on society vs. the cost, both in terms of economics, and when it comes to drug vices, on the cost of the reduction of our freedoms due to the needed zealous policing required to bring it about.

Sounds like neither were your cup of tea.
I see three types when it comes to recreational mind altering substances.
Those who can take it or leave it like your case. Those who like it and can control it...and of course those that let it take over their lives.
And we don't ban things because a small percent can't handle it. We've already decided this by having casinos in Detroit.

Pot doesn't ruin your life. It enhances it. Lol. Like a really good cigarette. Pot just makes people lazy but hey we want to relax and enjoy ourselves

Like I said...I've smoked for 35 years. The problems arise when people smoke when ever they feel like it.

it's time to understand that ALL drugs are bad without any exceptions!

Wait. I need to get a cup of coffee before I can process what you wrote.

Okay now that I've done that I think I need a drink.

Can you spare a smoke, brother?

The solution is obvious, just as obvious as the gun control issue, yet Americans are too stupid and cowardly to enact proper legislation, and enforce it.

Legalize ALL drugs and who cares what someone grows, cooks in their own home, or ingests. But get caught driving under the influence? Capitol offense. Get caught providing to children. Capitol offense. Bring drugs from outside country in.. Capitol offense.

Damage your neighbor's property because your meth lab blew up... Capitol offense

In other words, a return to what this country was founded on. Liberty , unless you harm another person.

Oh, and if you need medical assistance due to your habit , but don't have money or insurance, too bad for you.

PS I include both tobacco and alcohol in my above statement.

Acid has been researched.

Millions of people took acid in the '60s, and did not stare at the sun until blind, did not join Charlie Manson and kill people, did not have four headed babies, and did not get committed to institutions where they sat in rockers mumbling until they died.

Used with a lick of common sense, like hiding the car keys, it is far less dangerous in the long run than alcohol.

Of course there was the odd bad trip, which could usually be ended by changing the music, or taking the person into a different room, or outside.

Acid's bad name is mainly due to Reagan WAR ON DRUGS lies.

I am retired, so I smoke whenever I feel like it.
