Colorado governor: Legalizing pot was bad idea

And you'd be wrong. I did plenty of the stuff in my younger years, and it does no good to do it daily because it doesnt work if you do it all the time.

Where did I say differently?

It's not habit forming and habitually using it is pointless because it doesnt work if you use it constantly.

of course it works if you use it habitually, it just takes MORE of it to get the same effect. No different than beer or anything else. If you drink a six pack every night to get a buzz , eventually it will take 2 six packs to get a buzz and so on and so forth.

You obviously have never done acid.
Say you took one hit on friday,in order to get a buzz on Saturday you'd have to take three or four hits. It's just not practical or economical because the curve is to steep.
In other words it's pretty much impossible to use habitually because in a weeks time you'd be taking thirty hits. Thats just the way the stuff works.

I seriously doubt that you build up a tolerance that quickly.

You're telling me that one hit and then the next time one hit won't have the same effect on you? That doesn't even make sense.
That is because you have no idea how it works.

I don't blame people who tried to ban this stuff back in the 70's and 80's. Back then, similar to the prohibition people in the 1910's and 1920's, they thought they could bend people to their will via enforcement, propaganda, and time.

The people I blame are the current crop, who refuse to see that the fight is being lost badly, and maybe it is time to step back, with Pot being the first step.

John Rockerfeller was still a supporter of temperance when he wrote his letter saying prohibition had failed and should be repealed, he just admitted that prohibition caused more problems than it fixed.

And I'm not so progressive I think heroine coke and crack or ecstacy or acid should be legal. Pots just not those other things.
Acid should not be in that group.

A little acid never hurt anyone that wasn't throwed off to begin with.

I don't agree with that statement. Acid would be one of the last ones I would consider legalizing without further research.
Acid has been researched.

Millions of people took acid in the '60s, and did not stare at the sun until blind, did not join Charlie Manson and kill people, did not have four headed babies, and did not get committed to institutions where they sat in rockers mumbling until they died.

Used with a lick of common sense, like hiding the car keys, it is far less dangerous in the long run than alcohol.

Of course there was the odd bad trip, which could usually be ended by changing the music, or taking the person into a different room, or outside.

Acid's bad name is mainly due to Reagan WAR ON DRUGS lies.

oh bull shit.

See ,you dummies cant even argue the merits of liberty without telling stupid, easily disproved lies.

All drugs are harmful if abused, most are harmful even if habitually used, some are harmful if used even occasionally , a few are harmful if even used once.

LSD is definitely a drug that is harmful if habitually used, and I've never heard of anyone that occasionally takes a hit of acid. It's very habit forming.

Much like guns ARE dangerous. That's their entire purpose, to be dangerous.

So what? In THIS country we are free to endanger ourselves if we wish. We are not free to endanger others. But , if you want to take a drug that may melt your brain go for it.

"Acid isn't bad for you"

That's funny.

I'll be fifty this year and have smoked pot for 35 of those years yet I was able to retire early and lead a productive life.
And I also love my beer and whiskey.
It all boils down to personal responsibility really.
If you cant handle drinking it's not likely you'll do any better with pot,but thats on the individual.

when i was a kid 30+ years ago

smoked weed when it was cool and not so popular

havent smoked it since but then again i dont drink much either

Sounds like neither were your cup of tea.
I see three types when it comes to recreational mind altering substances.
Those who can take it or leave it like your case. Those who like it and can control it...and of course those that let it take over their lives.
And we don't ban things because a small percent can't handle it. We've already decided this by having casinos in Detroit.

Pot doesn't ruin your life. It enhances it. Lol. Like a really good cigarette. Pot just makes people lazy but hey we want to relax and enjoy ourselves

Like I said...I've smoked for 35 years. The problems arise when people smoke when ever they feel like it.
How many pots have you smoken?

I'm about to smoke the 2nd half of the first one I smoked at 9am and I'll probably twist and smoke another half joint tonight and may or may not finish it. I love waking up the next day and still have a half joint waiting for me.

It doesn't work as well if you use it habitually. I love going on a week vacation and come back to smoke pot and boy do I get really high because I haven't smoked all week.

But you can smoke 10 joints you'll never get as high as you did back in college where one hit blew your mind. We wish. We'd spend so much less on pot. I wish I could take one hit and get stoned. And I wish 2 joints would do it but at this point all pot does is relax me and maybe give me the munchies.

I should stop smoking pot. I don't eat when I'm not high. I'd lose some weight. LOL.

Colorado’s decision to legalize marijuana was a bad idea, the state’s governor said Friday. And i think it was obvious that legalizing drugs will be just another "headache"!
Colorado governor Legalizing pot was bad idea
It's very good that some people is still against and have some common sense.
Foolish researches about healthsome pot smoking and other drug usage is lie and it's time to understand that ALL drugs are bad without any exceptions!

Then why don't we make alcohol, tobacco and caffeine illegal as well?

The cost-benefit ratio for the cost of enforcing a pot ban vs. the damage pot uses causes simply isn't there as compared to drugs like heroin and meth.

Marty...he's trolling.

I am retired, so I smoke whenever I feel like it.

Yeah but we earned that.
To many people think they can get high before work.

I can and do get high before work. So what? Maybe even at lunch too. For sure on the ride home. I'm not a surgeon or a school bus driver. LOL.

You need a variety of weed.

Don't do the same weed all the time.

It doesn't hurt to lay off and let the receptors open up again.

Go a month or two, and you will get wasted as in days of old.

. Legalizing pot was as intelligent as prohibition.

What an odd claim.

Prohibition- the banning of one drug- was a huge failure- that killed more people than it 'saved', created and enriched organized crime and criminalized the act of taking a drug.

And yes- I am speaking of both alcohol and pot prohibitions.

Can you tell me how many lives have been saved by making pot illegal?

Using your speed limit analogy- we could actually predict how many more driving deaths would occur if we increased the speed limit.

So how many deaths are prevented by prohibition?

Acid is not habit forming or addictive you don't know what you are talking about. I did acid in college a lot one year because my buddy had them FREE and we first only did them for special occasions but then every weekend became a special occasion. But there was no addiction. We just wanted to be that fucked up and go out and have fun. Eventually I said enough is enough and my buddies did it for a few months longer than me. But then they stopped too. There was no addiction. We were just stupid. But it wasn't like we went through withdraw like you do with cigarettes, alcohol, heroine and crack.

Even cocaine wasn't physically addicting. It wasn't like the next day or two or 3 days my body needed coke. In fact I always said never again, until the next Friday when I called my guy because it was more fun to be on coke playing poker than not. I burned through $10K before I stopped. It sucked. But it wasn't like what I hear from crack or heroine where you go through a few days of I GOTTA HAVE IT withdraw. I swear.

You know what sucks? Making pot legal was a bad decision. Before if you got caught with it in your car you got a ticket for having pot. No biggy. A misdemeanor. Now that pots legal, the conservative assholes want to make it like alcohol. And we all know how even a little bit to drink and then drive is just as bad as being wasted and driving. So fine pot is legal now. But now if you get caught with it in your car you can get the equivalent to a drunk driving. That's not good. Not good at all.
