No, not based on the average age of those that have died and the fact that there are so many job openings. In many cases, we are paying people more to stay home than to work. It is that simple.

People assume that they aren’t already behaving exactly how the powerful want them to behave within a civilization whose political, monetary and economic systems are already completely under the control of the powerful.

People think they are free just because they can go and buy whatever they want in an economy rigged for the powerful using money rigged for the powerful, because they can say whatever they want on internet platforms whose algorithms are manipulated by the powerful, because they can vote for a politician who only got on the ballot by being owned by the powerful.

Just to follow up on this, Child tax credits even for those that don't even pay taxes(welfare), increased SNAP payments, etc. does nothing but keep people home. There are literally millions not working who can work. COVID deaths among those of working age is around 160k. It is merely a drop in the bucket.

I agree. To be honest the more I read on the subject the less the accepted definitions seem to make sense. Authoritarian governments are fascist, communist, and to a lesser extent, socialist. I think the spectrum is authoritarian vs non authoritarian. The names don't matter.

The left and the right have different methods of getting to authoritarianism, for the right one of those methods happens to be fascism. To see one and ignore the other, as many do on this forum, is to fail to realize that your 'side' has the same potential extreme evil if pursued to an extreme end or abused by the wrong people.

The right likes to believe that it is immune from the evil big government control tendency. They are not.

Because it is a private company making a private decision about how they will charge for a private product, health insurance.

Communism requires public ownership of the means of production. Where is the public ownership in this example?

Hell, where is the public AT ALL in this example? The OP is an example of pure capitalism, everything involved is private people entering into voluntary agreements.
