Corker's Comments Will Lead to Over-Ruling WV Workers Vote Again Unionizing!

VW workers voted against UAW by 76 votes, or 53%.

Left doesn't like outcome and demand new vote.

Would left mind new presidential election?

We had them last year, when all you wingnuts were PROMISING a humiliating Obama defeat. And he won re-election by a landslide.

Some of you even made bets that you would leave if Obama won. These people are now known here as welshers - which can be a real Liability to a reputation.

You think Unions play clean then your a dumber fuck then I thought you were.

In reality there was nothing unfair about what Corker did! It's the truth. The new car line will be produced there if they didn't unionize. If they do unionize it goes to Mexico. That is a nugget of information that the voters should be made aware prior to the vote anyways!
That is quite doubtful! In the other threads on this same thing, the Right were saying that VW wanted the union there so their winning or losing probably will have no effect on expanding the production line.

What will the Right say if VW sends the production to Mexico anyway? They will probably blame the union for that too! :cuckoo:

D e t r o I t.
Only went bankrupt once they elected a Republican governor.

Let that serve as a warning!

Hey genius. Detroit has been circling the bowl for 40 years.
And....The governor's party affiliation has no influence in City matters.
Detroit city government has been corrupt and wasteful for decades.

Yet, in another thread you will parrot "Obama's $16 trillion debt" and "Obama's economy".

You're a bad joke, as I keep proving.

Bonds and pensions.

In Detroit? Thank G-d they have an emergency manager cleaning up the mess, 18 billion dollars in debt:eusa_eh:
Yes in Detroit. They welshed on 1/3 of the pensions and 4/5 of the bonds.

Solvency.... liberals tend not to understand what that word means. Detroit was insolvent understand? When you buy bonds you take a risk on the solvency of the city who sold them. Risk management boy, understand? also too much pension expenses and no money. Not quite sure what that as to do with the state of MI surplus:confused:

Detroit didn't wanted bankruptcy because that would mean restructuring. After 50 years of controlling the city, hiring family members and living large thru corruption, of course they resisted. Schneider is the best thing that happened to Michigan and Detroit.

That's not what I am talking about. Left wants new vote in VW because of Corker's comments. OK, if that is the reason, why stop there, lets do the same with presidential elections because, the only reason Red Barry won is because he lied and media covered for him by delaying his lies.

True, Detroit went bankrupt after Republican governor was elected. Read carefully, not because of Republican governor, they had it coming for years where Democratic governor didn't mind Detroit's corruption, as long D's were in control. And even if she was concerned (she wasn't), she didn't have balls to take it on them, literally.

Best thing they could have done is file for bankruptcy as that is what saved the city.
Democrats were negotiating with creditors, unions, jobbers, accounts payable holders for decades before a Republican stepped in that knew how to negotiate with all creditors and did what was right.
Democrats would never allow one penny of union money to be held up.
Amazing the liberal supports bankruptcy for the slacker to get out of re-negotiating and most times eliminating all their debt to the evil capitalist and then opposes it when it affects a city that is primarily Democrat because someone that earns a buck can not be blamed.

Then why do the Right-Wing keep blaming high unemployment and all the other results of George Bush's Great Recession on Obama?

Goose/Gander.

The word "pension" is not used once in your post. Why is that, when it's the leading cause of Detroit's problems?

Gladly add the word pension.
People do not have a right to a pension. You are right and good point.
Inflated defined benefits pensions are what has ruined this country and specifically the auto industry.
And you forgot to add in blank check health care benefits so let us add that in also.
Glad you pointed that out. They were lied to by government.
Imagine that.
They now should have to fend for themselves like the rest of us.
Hint: THERE IS NO $$$$$

Yeah, fuck them old people, working all their lives and maybe having defended this country in a war or two.

We have dressage Horsies for rich people to ride, that's the important thing.

Now, on a policy matter, there's some validity here. Pensions were designed at a time when folks retired at 65 and maybe lived to be 75. ANd there were 16 workers paying in for every one retiree. And it isn't working that way, due to a combination of demagraphic shifts and the desire of the plutocrats to find efficiencies, which usually means one overstressed, overworked schlub doing the work four people used to do.

Unions and government. Every time when there is no more money, what government does? Change the rules. When SS get close to run out of money they will just raise retirement age, because they pretty much want us dead before we try to claim something that we've been working for 30 or 40 years.

The promise of pensions are becoming a common joke. Barry recently announced MyIRA, government backed retirement fund. Let's say people go for it. What will happen to it when government need money again? Of course, with strike of a pen they will turn it to general fund, just like they did with SS. You simply can't trust them with your money. Period.

When social security was started the life span of an American was 62 years old. So guess where they set the minimum age one could draw social security?
Age 62.
Social security was structured as insurance IN CASE you lived past the average life span from the start. It was never intended to be a retirement system for you or I or anyone.
It is a tax on workers to pay people that live past the average life span and was set up totally on a pay as you go system.
Social security needs to immediately raise the age you can first draw to 66. Having it remain at 62 for 70 years is insane.
But seniors vote and AARP is the largest street gang on the block now.

SS is a rip off. Because those scum bags in Washington have been stealing OUR money that is deducted for SS for decades.

Whqat pisses me off is when older people who have pensions they can easily live off start screaming "don't you fuck with my social security. I NEED that!!!!"...
Oh sure. For what? TO pay the mortgage on your lake house?
I have always maintained that SS payments should be Means tested.
