Cowards Run Away As Elk Attacks Woman

BTW, my gramps was attacked by a 160 lb southern Michigan whitetail in rut one afternoon in his cornfield. He weighed about 140 sopping wet. It had him on the ground for over 4 hours trying to stick him and kick him. Finally he had it in a headlock and got one hand free for his pocket knife. He stuck it until it was dead. My granny found him later passed out from exhaustion with the dead buck still laying on top of him....now that's a man.

Congratulations to the men for overcoming toxic masculinity and rejecting roles forced on them by the patriarchy.

It does happen.....

Deer in rut can be a killing machine

You should always try to come to the aid of someone that needs it, I agree.

But underestimating these enormous, dangerous beasties is just looking to get their ass kicked up over their head.

These powerful animals fight for the right to boogie with the lady elks and those antlers are their weapons. Have you seen these animals fight?

The only thing you're going to accomplish by grabbing an elks antlers is ventilating their own body parts.

No doubt.

Unfortunately, it's not very unusual for animals to attack humans under the right circumstances.

Elk can be very large, powerful animals, to be sure. Still not cool to bail and leave an old lady to fend for herself.

Of course, I agree.

Easy to make a call, when your not there. If it was my child or family, I’d definitely sacrifice myself. It did happen very quickly. Plus, who the fuck needs to get that close to some nasty smelly beast in the first place. Sipping a beer in a nice pub, while watching those fuckers, would be good enough for me. Anybody up for swimming with sharks?

He's a despicable little weirdo who enjoys trying to piss me off....calling my grandparents and me a liar makes it a little different than usual. My granny thought he was dead when she found him. When I first heard the story from them she grabbed his hand and her lips trembled. This is what you get when you share a story around miserable little creeps like unkotare ("dripping shit porn" in Japanese).

When I lived in Denver, every year we used to go up to Estes Park for the Elk Festival, which is this time of year. The Elk are all over, and people seem to think the are just like PETS, and try to go up to them. On many occasion, I'd stop people from getting to close. They are BIG, STRONG animals and not to be messed with. However, if you don't get close to them, they will leave you alone. They are not a danger unless you provoke them.

Mmmmmm. Elk Burgers!

So you'd let an elderly woman get stomped and gored if she wasn't a friend or relative? better turn in your man card, Butch.

You don’t know what you would do. I’m just being honest. All you Monday morning quarterbacks may have shit your pants. No,I’m not being gored for a stranger. A truck is definitely a better idea. But I did watch the video. Please feel free to dissect it, and tell us where exactly your point to intervene as a hero would have come in.

My Mom told me a story that happened in her teen years about a large bullmoose.
Her and her buddy were driving a VW Bug in British Columbia when they came across the monster standing in the middle of the road.
They kept honking to get it to move and it charged...they had trouble getting out of the Bug it was so smashed in.

Are you out in the woods often?

Already said how and when I'd have interceded.....I'm a combat Vet....gone forward in several situations much scarier than some pissed off elk, Butch. I learned early on about valor and losing face....breaks and bruises heal up...the stench of cowardness you can never wash off.

At any point doing something is better than doing nothing. Throw rocks, yell, wave your arms around...anything!
There's another human being getting attacked.

Where are you going to keep all the bad karma you got stored up?
