Cure for Idolatry

Can I be cured from idolatry?

If the Bible is true and Yahweh is real then I am an idolater. Is it possible for me to be cured? If yes, then how can I be cured? How do I become washed, sanctified and justified from this sin that I love so much?

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? This is real. I am probably the only person in the world who has ever read "Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" four times. I even have fantasies of leaving my family in the future to pursue building the Pastafarian Kingdom into something reputable. Reverting back to Christianity and staying with my family would be a more noble and easier life. I just have this strong urging to give myself to the cause of Pastafarianism even though it seems to be a fruitless endeavor that would lead to nothing but a few laughs at my expense.

Have I already gone too far and dabbled in the work of the devil? If you knew me then you would understand the seriousness of this. Everybody who knows me believes that I am the best Christian man around. Only my wife and kids know about my obsession with the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I have engaged in idolatry even though the Bible warns me to flee idolatry.

Am I hopeless? Can idolatry be cured or is this a manifestation of my wicked heart?

Rising from the dead is as easy or as difficult as it is for a person to be honest with themselves and others.

Stop seeking spiritual life from that which has no life and is not God. Stop pretending that you find such a practice acceptable especially to the people that you are supposed to love. How hard is that?

The more you cleanse your mind from all that is false the better your mind will function and you will be transformed into a creature capable of receiving the truth and knowing where right and wrong and judgment lie and then the only right course to take that leads to eternal life in any given circumstance will become obvious..

You could probably start right now on the road to recovery by stopping whatever charade that you are currently perpetrating.

So, are you really an avowed long-suffering atheist surrounded by a nutty Christian wife and church going family (poor you) or are you a hopeless idolator praying to a block of wood for favors as if you were hooked on smack (poor you)?

I think reading on Bob and the church of the subgenius would either cure you or give you a pacifier to suck on while you wean yourself off from Spaghetti land.

If not then try Urantia, Scientology, Masonry, JW, or Flat Earth theory. Nation of Islam or Walmart pathways training are also good for reprogramming. Zen Buddhism, UU, Kwanzaa, change your brain change your life, Course in Miracles, or What Color is Your Parachute, also very good and better than LSD and pot combined.

You just need to jolt or balance your brain fixation and chemistry with a little extra stimulation in equal and opposite areas. If that doesn't work, try paper folding 1000 cranes for peace, writing a letter of apology to someone you think owes you one, or volunteering to help at a religious or political event of a group you most fear hate or oppose.

You will snap out of it, whatever it is.

Their religion is socialism which worships big government and social policy. It is based on atheism and deification of man. It proceeds in almost all its manifestations from the assumption that the basic principles guiding the life of an individual and of mankind in general do not go beyond the satisfaction of material needs or primitive instincts. They have no distinction between good and evil, no morality or any other kind of value, save pleasure. Their doctrine is abolition of private property, abolition of family, abolition of religion and communality or equality. The religious nature of socialism explains the extraordinary attraction to socialist doctrines and its capacity to inflame individuals and inspire popular movements and condemn respect for any who believe in Christianity. They practice moral relativity, indiscriminate indiscriminateness, multiculturalism, cultural marxism and normalization of deviance. Their hostility towards traditional religions is that of an animosity between a rival religion. They can be identified by an external locus of control. They worship science but are the first to argue against it. They are modern American liberals.
 
Stop worshipping the Invisible Big Guy. Follow my lead, I once found a bible at my house, had no idea how it got there, so I threw it out.
