And why they have lost dominance in the United States as a result.

From the inauguration of Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 to the assassination of John Kennedy in 1963 the Democrat Party dominated the United States. During this time 90% of the U.S. population were white. Most Negroes were restricted to second class citizenship.

There is often wisdom in tradition. The behavior of most Negroes since 1963 indicates, if it does not demonstrate, that Jim Crow legislation was based on sound instinct.
