The tribal friction in east Darfur has defined the very nature of violence in the region. This fact has been overlooked by the international organizations about the very core crisis of the conflict. These organizations have twisted facts and used the conflict as propaganda against Sudan.
There is no security upset in the region excluding the clashes between the major tribes in the region. Governor of the state has accused lately in press conference held in Khartoum some political parties struggling over power of fanning the conflicts.
The conflict between the farmers and herdsmen over water and pasture dates back to almost ten years before the emergence of the rebel movements which have become tools in the hand of Western powers with anti Sudan agenda.
The clashes between Al Maalia and Arizat and Beni Halba and and Beni Hussein is evident that the conflict in the region doesnt target non Arab tribes and refutes the Western campaign that the war is launched against the non Arab tribes.
UN Chief was right when he declared that the conflict was due to struggle over water and pasture following the desertification that swept the region in 1980s.
Its untrue that the Sudanese government fans the conflict. On the contrary, some political parties instigated by western powers are behind the tribal tensions.
