Debt ceiling fight

So, what you are saying is that since Trump was "serving all the American people" excess spending and rapidly increasing the deficit did not matter.
I did not say that at all.
Those things only matter when you think the POTUS is not serving all the American people
No, they matter all the time.

Point is that you Democrats are comparing apples to hammers when you ask why the GOP picked a fight with Biden and not Trump.

We had a strong economy under Trump until the Dems came up with the scamdemic to ruin it. Unemployment, especially for people of color, was at an all time low. That meant increased tax revenue from people who are working instead of collecting welfare. Reduction in illegal immigration meant less expendature on them in welfare and services. Cutting regulations meant less needed to spent enforcing them. Strong negotiations with trading partners meant more wealth for the U.S.

Increased revenue, combined with reductions in spending and size of government that could reduce the deficit are possible under such a president with a supportive congress, so a debt ceiling fight was not needed.

Sure you did.

Not really.

We had a strong economy under Trump

Which is the perfect time to cut spending.

That meant increased tax revenue people who are working instead of collecting welfare. Reduction in illegal immigration meant less expendature on them in welfare and services. Cutting regulations meant less needed to spent enforcing them. Strong negotiations with trading partners meant more wealth for the U.S.

So, all the more reason to cut spending since those things were not needed.

But instead it was increased each and every year

Increased revenue, combined with reductions in spending and size of government that could reduce the deficit are possible under such a president with a supportive congress, so a debt ceiling fight was not needed.

But instead the deficit increased every year. Why is that?

Gary Johnson in 2016. What do you learn from that, grasshopper?

And in such a short time you have become a dyed in the wool Repub, defending massive spending.

What the hell happened to you since then?

The only time the GOP wants spending cuts is when they are not in power any other time they happily raise the debt ceiling.
You mean just like the Democrats? The last time Joe Biden was in the Senate he voted against raising the debt ceiling.....
