Other than hiring an attorney and strategically filing for a bankruptcy, consumers have no debt suspension rights no matter what has occurred in their lives.

Be it a natural disaster destroying an entire town, such as a forest fire, earthquake, hurricane, tsunami, tornado, drought, or flood.

Being a crime victim, medical crisis, accident victim, becoming a caregiver for a family member who would otherwise die, no matter what the "excuse", or what the "personal drama" is, consumers have no debt suspension rights over their own credit card and student loan debt.

Yet when Wall Street misbehaves, they get a bailout and access to interest free money.

Why can't consumers get the interest rate charges waived after a credit credit card default or student loan default has occurred? I'm not talking about debt forgiveness. I am talking about not profiting over someone else's misery by tacking on more and more interest rate charges, penalties and fees.
