PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
It’s official. December 2015 is now the wettest month ever recorded in Portland.

The record was broken early Monday morning. As of 7 a.m. Portland has received 13.40 inches of rain in the past month, according to weather officials.

The previous record was set in December 1996 with 13.35 inches of rain.

And the month is not over yet. Weather reports said several storms are headed this way, bringing more rainfall for the next few days.

Another weather record was also broken Monday. The Portland area has now had 21 straight days of rain, beating the previous record of 20 days set in December 2001.

FOX 12 weather experts said there are two dry days currently in the forecast, one of them being Christmas Day.

Wettest month in recorded history for Portland Oregon!!! ;)

So what, its a freaking rain forest. What else is new!
So, you haven't the faintest idea what you are talking about. So what else is new?

We normally get our rain in 1/10 to 1/4 inches a day. A nice mist or soft drizzle. Not the hammering rains we have had this month. In fact, we may exceed 15" this month. May end up as being the wettest month on record, period. And we are having daily road closures due to slides. Even closed I-5 to Seattle for a nearly a whole day.

After a record dry summer, we are setting records for rainfall. Pretty wild swing.
