Declining moral values

Shit, ABS makes sense.

I agree. Well put, too.

Well, if you weren't such a bitch to me, we could possibly be friends. I do know a bit of stuff, because you can't travel to 26 different countries and 49 different states without learning something.

Unfortunately, YOUR friends won't let you be friends with me.
:wtf: You need a tissue?

No actually, it was more polite comment telling you that we think enough alike that we could have possibly been friends if you'd take off the bitch goggles.

It was also a pointed statement about the quality of your associates.

Fuck off Si Moron, I have enough friends. I was just trying to be polite bitch.

And unfortunately in this day and age children are learning that putting out your hand and having a tantrum meltdown will get them fed. And fed whatever it is that they want at the time, not what is necessarily on the table.

That is a literal and metaphorical statement as well.

No one in my circle would ever permit their child to tantrum to get fed or accept it for any other purpose.

Good to know mom! But there are many many who do. It is the path of least resistance and gets them to shut up faster.

And I was never forced to eat what I didn't like and wouldn't do that to my son.
I wasnt talking about forcing children to eat what they don't want. But , for example, if you are at the dinner table and a child has a melt down because he wants pizza or McDonalds or what ever else it is that it wants, and gets it, that is a problem. Especially if that behavior is catered to.

Americans worried about declining moral values...except their own.

What I find hilarious is some of the things on the list are even considered apart of declining moral values. Trying to stick everyone to one set of moral values in this country of all things is not only filled of so much epic fail but horribly ignorant.

Are you saying that there is anything on that list that could not possibly include declining moral values or should not be seen that way?

How about thinking of the kids and the futrue of this country byu manning up and paying for what really works instead of just machanically screaming "throwing money at the problem"?

Schools should be no bigger than 900 students to teach well.

'Man-up'? Is that liberal speak for give us your money and control over your children so 'we' can do what is best 'for the children'?
When 'the children' were important in this country, we had schools that were poor, and turned out some of the best minds in the world (my mother used to say necessity being the mother of invention). Morals were taught at home and ENFORCED in the schools.

We HAD a system that 'worked' .... until some liberals wanted to introduce bureaucracy and subjects that 'would be good for the children'. You can track the 'obvious' decline of education in this country back to the point where 'the educators' (I call them the white collar dead weight) took control of education from the parents and the teachers, and began the system we have now [teach as I say to teach not as I teach (because I haven't taught or have no great experience with any child), I'll sit in this posh office building while you deal with the dollar signs (children), in that ratted out falling down building, and we will get bonuses while the teachers use their own pay for school supplies.

Maybe ... the 'best thing for the children' would be to fire every administrator and every school board member and make a direct contract between the teachers and the parents... teach the basics and encourage morals. If the parent wants anything else to be taught they can arrange for services on their own.

The money being paid already would be plenty and 'it would be good for the children'.

Polite comment? "if you weren't such a bitch"? LMAO!

I think a lot of people that bring up the "declining morals" are just bitter white christians that can't force people to live by their standards and morals and push them around like they had for much of the history of this country

What are liberals trying to do with their 'fairness doctrines' 'redistribution of wealth'?
Christians used the 10 Commandments as 'standards', will you name what is wrong with any of those Commandments (given by the Ultimate Authority)?

Sins of thoughts. WE all covet things. We all lust after other people's wives, its biology and subconscious thoughst in the brain. those are sins according to some of the commandments. You can't control your thoughts but your actions. taking god's name in vain, what is so bad about that? IN fact only a few are actually good like not killing and stealing.

Those "liberal things' you speak of, you mean like helping out people in times of need, helping people when they lose their jobs? Helping the elderly and disabled who can no longer work. THat sounds like what jesus would do, how the hell can you claim those things aren't moral, for the richest country in the world? Methinks you have some warped sense of morals.

And my point was that in the past white christians controlled and shit over everybody else that didn't follow their morals and standards of living (of course not all, but lots, with all the wrongs that happened throughout our history). And now that they can't, the cry the decline in morals garbage, when the past was far more immoral as society progresses.

Would you dare go as far as to say being able to take care of yourself is moral ?

conformity to the rules of right conduct; moral or virtuous conduct.

Because it is not right to expect everyone else in the world to take care of your sorry lazy fucked up stupid ass! ( sorry, not you dilloduck)

Taking care of yourself is actually instinct. If you feel hungry, you go looking for food.

HOW you follow your instincts, as well as what you do to take care of yourself, well, that is where morality starts to seep in.

Syrenn showed it when she posted the definition of morality. It's rules of "right" conduct as determined by that particular society.

A really cool trick that I learned while traveling around the world in the military was this.......you want to know what the "morality" is of the area you are in, check out what the prevailing belief system is, and you'll know.

Warren Jeffs and his followers at the YFZ Ranch had their own ideas of morality as well, and they thought it was "moral" to marry girls who were 12 - 16 years old in multiple marriages to old men.

Like I said, morality isn't an absolute. People should quit treating it like it is.

Taking care of yourself is actually instinct

not really---some parents teach it and others teach you to rely on others

:eusa_eh:

For starters:

Moving away from Religion or the Church from starters. The church does not have a monopoly on morality.

TV content? Cursing and Sex? Really? Well gee, perhaps it is only reflection of real people in society?

Porn? Really? Porn is on this list? :eusa_eh:

I had to laugh when I got to Abortion. Abortion rates are at some of their lowest levels ever.

And by the time I got to Gay/Lesbian relations, I just consider this to be a joke.

Do you seriously think the fact gay and lesbian couples can now be couples out in public to be a decline in moral values?

And then when I got to the internet, I just started to laugh more and more.

The only morals that should be universal is don't kill anybody, dont' rape them, don't steal or rob from them, don't destroy their property. Of course, at times those can be bent, but those hsould be the golden rules of morality. THe rest is solely subjective. If what you do damages or hurts other's, than likely its immoral.

Declining moral values

and look at that. "gays" made the list. Right wingers are sick fucks.

Only by reducing the right wingers influence will morals improve and the country get better.

Evidence?

What 'morals' do gays promote?

I have a gay friend who cares for cancer patients, volunteers, and is over all a great person.
What morals do you promote by judging other people?

Troll Dogbert apparently runs his own polling service, so we can now ignore Gallup. Troll Dogbert has so typed, so it is so. :cuckoo:

And you don't think that illegals impact those numbers? Or who the kids interact with?

Illegals do contribute to the problem, but that is not the point... we want more taxes and less control for taxpayers. Addressing the illegal problem does not help get more taxes or take more control from taxpayers, IMHO.

read it all in context. TM was whining about class sizes being to large. In CA illegals make up 15-25% of student populations.
