Delta objects to new Georgia Law. Can you say “Fascism”?

The OP correctly describes fascism as right-wing.

I'm surprised the OP spelled it correctly. They sure as fuck don't understand the concept.
One facet of fascism is corporations carrying the water for and/or inserting themselves in matters are the business of The State...This fits that bill, dMac.

About a decade or go or so, airlines started charging for luggage. Carry ons were exempt. People were bringing check in size luggage on flights. Flights were delayed. Guess who most of the people were who did it? Walking into the plane was like squeezing through a luggage shop with one foot lanes. The airlines were mute. They didn't want charges of hate and racism. So everyone suffered for it as they always do when people abuse things. Who cares who gets inconvenienced? Airlines got tougher as safety standards were breached. Now we see arguments and fights on planes and the stewardesses who have been like nazis for 20 years are running gulags. And many are to old. Unions...go figure..

The OP correctly describes fascism as right-wing. I do have to laugh at these so-called "small government conservatives" applauding the Georgia law because the law is anything but "small government." The law imposes the will of the State on local government. If the State does not like the way an election is progressing, the party in power may well change the local election officials.

Under the new law, if a majority of the five-member board decides that a county's elections officials have been doing their job poorly, the board can suspend those officials and replace them with one person the board has hand-picked to serve as a temporary superintendent, with the same powers the officials had. Who decides if an offical is doing is job poorly? The party in power. That's who.

The new law also removes the Georgia secretary of state as the chair of the state elections board. Instead, the law lets the state legislature appoint a "nonpartisan" chair of the board. So the law effectively takes power away from the people and an elected official directly accountable to the people, to the party in power.

These so-called conservatives backing this law are hypocrites of the highest order,

Speaking of power grabs...

Well, civility and good manners have fallen by the wayside. Even now is wrong to be politically correct..

The OP acts like this is something new? Surely we all remember the NFL stripping Phoenix of it's Super Bowl when it didn't recognize MLK Day.

Don't make excuses for your ignorant Trumpster buddies. They're too stupid to understand corporatism. You seem to be riding that crazy train with them. Enjoying the ride?

Corporatism is fascistic, dMac.....So blow it out your fake glibertarian ass.

Funny how Corporations are now weighing in on laws, and now making political statements.

Civil rights groups have filed lawsuits against the state of Georgia, saying it was an example of “blatant racism, represents politics at its very worst and is clearly illegal.” On Wednesday, 72 black executives signed an open letter calling for American corporations to join the resistance.

To “join the resistance”? Is that like an insurrection? The recently voted in legislature made the law. What happened to respecting the election and its outcome?

Coca-Cola also came out to make their political statement on the subject.

What’s next? Firing employees that voted the wrong way?

Fascism is here.

Mussolini!!! Nice support for an OP! Not as funny as a Stalin joke, but still not to be sneezed at in the world of absurdity. :auiqs.jpg:

Ummm yes. I think allowing Mussolini to define fascism for you is being a really dumb fuck.

dblack could probably help you out here, but essentially fascism took over all private property (including property owned through corporate ownership), and today we may be seeing pretty much the exact opposite.

review Umberto's characteristics of fascism

  1. The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.”
  2. The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense Ur-Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.”
  3. The cult of action for action’s sake. “Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation.”
  4. Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.”
  5. Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.”
  6. Appeal to social frustration. “One of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups.”
  7. The obsession with a plot. “Thus at the root of the Ur-Fascist psychology there is the obsession with a plot, possibly an international one. The followers must feel besieged.”
  8. The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”
  9. Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”
  10. Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”
  11. Everybody is educated to become a hero. “In Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.”
  12. Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”
  13. Selective populism. “There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People.”
  14. Ur-Fascism speaks Newspeak. “All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.”

Sigh - you've clearly signed on with "stupid".

The thing is, seemingly trivial things, like the inability of dimwits to understand the meaning of the words they use, can create real problems. Corrupt leaders can use this kind of ignorance to convince people that black is white - that freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength.

Corporatism has nothing to do with incorporated businesses. It's a kind of government that distributes power to special interest groups. The "corporate power" Mussolini was referring to was the power of special interest groups in society, not the power of private business. But this distinction is far too subtle for the idiots, and they end up getting it backwards. Unscrupulous leaders, and nihilist trolls, use this ignorance to advance their own agendas.

And what happens when the corporate entities don't play ball with factions within The State?...Junkers Aricraft happens, dumb fuck.

I'm helping you out here, but you and dMac are too much of obstinate meatheads to look at what's going on right under your noses, because of your blind hatred for one man.

Corporatism and fascism are closely related, to the point of being virtually indistinguishable from one another, stupid.....You don't get one without the other.

You really are all in on the "Equivocation for Dummies™" strategy, aren't ya? The point, that you nearly sprained your neck steering around, is that this isn't corporatism. Jesus. You are fucking lost.

Fuck Umberto. Twisting words in knots is of no interest to me. The illegitimate administration is facist and so are the companies that try to intimidate people.
