The Republicans pushed quite a few amendments this year. Two big ones. The first was an amendment to give the legislation more control over property taxes because they wanted to make big corporate tax cuts.

Justice came out against it. It was defeated big time.

Controversial Amendment 2, the property tax amendment, had 65% against and 35% for with 100% of the precincts reporting. Gov. Jim Justice strongly opposed the amendment, while the GOP Senate leadership pushed for its passage.

The other one was to give the legislation more control over local school boards. Justice was against it. It was defeated.

Not exactly Trumpian positions on the part of Justice.

WV is not like other areas in that regard. The Republicans introduced 4 amendments this last election and the people defeated each one of them.
