The idea that the world should stop turning so we can all fret about the economy is pretty silly imho.

Fine, then lets iron out shit that actually matters. Gun control is nothing more than feel good legislation. It does nothing to stop crime or murder. And gays were offered civil unions and declined.

So let us focus on things that affect everyday Americans not a bunch of phoney baloney nonsense.

It has been offered over and over again but is always rejected. Maybe not through Congress but almost daily on here and in the media and it is soundly rejected every time.

My problem isn't the issue its all the issues that are ignored at the expense of keeping this issue on the front burner.

If the gop was smart they would put a civil union bill before the house and put it to a vote. Pass it to the Senate and move the fuck on to the issues that face all Americans.

The point is going with what works and what doesn't. When we have democratic presidents, we get job creation, improved economies, and an all around better nation.
When there is a right winger in office, all we get is massive deficits, soaring unemployment, out of control spending, and the destruction of the nation.

Simply put, GOP policies have never, and will never work.

POTUS is like the quarterback of a football team when it comes to the economy. They get more credit than they deserve when things are going well and more blame than they deserve when things are going poorly.
