Democrats to propose weapons ban, gun confiscation powers in bill inspired by President Trump

Why would we need a new law to bring people before a Judge for competency hearings? That is already the law.
Would Cruz have been deemed "incompetent?" That's a real high bar. I'm not at all sure about that.

Homicidal/suicidal behavior isn't political. There's nothing I can do to address fears like that because they're totally unfounded.

Totally unfounded...LOL....sure, not a smidgen.
I've worked with actual, real life judges. I've even read some of the decisions of Federal judges and SC judges and believe it or not they actually adjudicate cases and make their decisions based upon the LAW. That's the truth, whether you like it or not.

Wasting your time trying to talk sense to them. Trump bois don't care about facts or reality.
I suppose. If I give up trying to talk sense to them, why am I here, then?

Pretty much to troll and make fun of people. This board's not good for anything else.
Well, I guess I'm lucky they put up with a misfit like me, then.

No, this isn't the one to worry about.
Who decides if you are presenting imminent danger to yourself or others? A judge, after receiving clear and convincing EVIDENCE from law enforcement or family. If the gun owner disagrees, a hearing is quickly ordered to defend having the guns returned. It is the responsibility of the petitioner (taking away the guns) to provide evidence to the contrary.

And who would you have determine if a person is mentally unstable, if not a mental health facility?

Where something like what you describe runs into problems is if the judge is a liberal judge, if that's the case everyone with a gun would be considered a danger. Also, if you get an Obama wannabe in office, how long would it take to use the concept as a weapon, as Obama did with the IRS?

I'm certainly not questioning all judges...just the ones that make up the rules depending on the day of the week.
I've never met one of them although I'm not going to say they are all saints. It's just a general rule. I'm guessing you're thinking of the 9th circuit judges that Trump called unfair because they ruled against his immigration bans? Just keep in mind that the same "Mexican" judge Trump said was unfair to him just gave Trump the green light to building his Wall. Law was the basis of the decision both times.
Amazing how that works.

I'm sure some 9th circuit judges would be on the list, although there's probably many more that have not gained such notoriety.

Ohh so you want to LOWER the bar on who is competent how very democratic of you.
Competency and posing imminent danger to self and others are not the same thing, legally
Already have laws on the books for those the problem is you dumb ass Liberals won't enforce them and then when you catch a criminal using a firearm you give him a light sentence for him to get out and do it again.

The courts have no business telling the President who can and can not legally enter this country that his power in conjunction with Congress.

How the hell is gun confiscation "inspired by Trump"? Maybe the crazy left is afraid they will lose their armed base.
